Thanks for the advice. I think I solved it. Seems to be the AMP plugin and accelerated mobile pages. Both cause issues like giant social media icons and images with massive gaps which is strange as AMP is the go-to plugin for mobile browsing.
Thank you for checking.
Really!! Working for me, tried it on my phone aswell.
Managed to fix it. For anyone else who’s site suddenly stops working displaying error messages. I had to update my wordpress. Funny thing is updating it completely deactivated my theme and all my plugins. Ball arch but got everything back to normal. Happy days.
So after disabling plugins, I found it was a plugin BJ lazy load stopping my images loading although my featured image still doesn’t load.
Apparently, I was using WP Bakery as if I disabled TagDiv composer and kept WP Bakery, my posts loaded fine but without Tag Div fanciness. If I disable Bakery and keep Tag Div Composer, my posts are still messed up.
With tag div composer enabled I get the giant social media icons and a bunch of code at the bottom of each post. https://www.screencast.com/t/HMsv5e07eP
One of the reasons I purchased the newspaper pack was because of the child themes it comes with and how it looks. I especially like the gadget theme so before I downgrade which is really the last resort is there any way to fix all these issues? keep tag div composer and WP bakery for my individual articles which you can’t edit with tag div composer.
For now, I’ve had to completely deactivate tag div composer as with it my posts are too messed up which could affect my rankings. Now surely that can’t be right.
I don’t use WPBakery, it’s not active. My home page and the general pages ain’t the problem. They appear fine. It’s the posts that are messed up with no images and giant social media icons.
So I’ve got to delete the theme, reinstall an older version and start again from scratch because of an update? Is there no way to simply rollback to the previous update?
I use the Gadget theme. I found Newspaper: functions.php and made the change but it didn’t make any difference. I’ve always used tag div composer and updated it whenever there was a theme update as if I didn’t, my site was completely messed up. I never get a chance to backup my site before a theme update as it updates automatically. There first I hear of it is my site is messed up and I see an update, then in turn update the plugins which fixes everything.
I downloaded the previous version v9.6.1 but dont know how to downgrade. Please help as my site is still messed up.
My site is also broken. None of my images appear, the menu disappears when hovered over and my social media icon links are giant I didn’t even know I was using a child theme. That image link Calin posted doesn’t work.
Please, can you link again so I can fix it.
Scratch that. I had to manually update the plugins with the new theme
For anyone else having this problem.
I Managed to fix it with slight moderation from the code Calin posted changed too.
.td-gadgets .td-header-style-5 .sf-menu > .current-menu-item > a{
color:orange;
}
With the other code, it’s now back to normal.
Happy days
Hi
Thats the problem, changing the theme colours seems to make no difference.
The screen shot is without the custom code:
.td-gadgets .td-header-style-5 .sf-menu > li > a:hover{
color:orange;
}
https://www.screencast.com/t/Hjn3DUya
As you can see. theme colours are set but the active and hover both default to black? The custom code was the only thing that seemed to work and changed the active and hover to orange. But since the theme update, the active has defaulted back to black and nothing I do seems to change it.
Thanks for taking your time to help me.
Thanks for the replies.
I didn’t realise there was another update. That solved the image problem but the menu one is still there.
I tried disabling pretty much all plug-ins. Left some active like Simple SSL but it didn’t seem to make any difference?
Forgot to link my site. https://martial-arts-review.co.uk/
Thought I would post an update if anyone else is having this problem. As this problem has persisted I did a live help chat with Host Gator customer service. The said they updated my PHP to the latest which seems to of solved the problem.
Thanks
So I shouldnt worry what google search is saying about my site not being mobile friendly?
Will affect my SEO.
Where in the dashboard menu is the option to disable mobile Log in?
Thanks
Sorry for long reply, my site got hacked.
Well I am using Yaost so I aint gotta wory about the robot.txt even though I cant find it anywhere?
Yea they have just started to show as of today, must take a bit of time on google ends. Thanks for the header ad info, I will fix it. I also read that google ads doesnt like placing ad in smart sidebars so is it best to tunr that off to get ads to show in sidebar?
That works perfect.
Much appreciated 🙂
Thanks for the reply, I did what you suggested and deleted teh block of code customizing the menu but nothing has changed? I even tried to simply change the colour code from black to something else but still nothing changed?
That definately the css which effects it?
