I have requested a refund via Envato for both themes. My website is completely borked with malware (first time ever) and I will try and use a backup to restore it. I do hope they will be accepted and processed. It is quite a lot of money for me and has led to some poor weekend life outcomes. TIA. I appreciate it.

However, upon reactivating your theme, the site reverted to displaying a maintenance or critical error page, indicating that the issue persists.

Given these findings, I highly recommend reaching out to your theme provider for further assistance. They should be able to address the issue within the theme file and provide guidance on resolving any conflicts with the mentioned plugin.

Just to be clear, I purchased the Newsmag them not realising that there was a better option ie Newspaper theme. I purchased both. I tried both as themes and experimented. My site then crashed and I could not access it at all except via Cpanel:

When I now go to the site it just wants to “download”

Sadly, the newsmag and newspaper theme has completely crashed my site. It must be something to do with a plugin which I can see – from the error messages in Cpanel – that there is a strange crypto refer/site:

My host is helping but after 20 years of managing a self-hosted site this is a first. Advice welcome 🙂
