My question was regarding backups. I used to be able to set the amount to a small level, which kept the file smaller. But now I don’t have any ability to backup or control the number of backups. The functionality is gone, wondering if this was a change and how I can manage the backups done by the theme.

Removed the changes and restored original footer.php.

I’m using the Cloud template, but when I get to mobile size in TagDiv the standard page footer I believe shows up. Instead of my footer (and no mobile theme usage so all responsive) it shows the menu choice I made, and the copyright notice shows at the bottom. Attached is the screen cap, similar to dkorinchak, it shows one menu and that copyright notice which I found in the footer, and is elsewhere in includes.

I’ve installed Standard Pack, but not seeing where to turn off copyright or anything.
MY page is https://remember.org, scroll to the bottom and you can see the footer (i made it one column to accomodate Mobile from 3 columns, and it shows in all browsers except the mobile one, which I can’t change.

LMK where in Theme Panel, with Standard Pack installed, I can turn this off? Thanks!

I’ve had the same problem only on the mobile view of my response Newspaper theme.

Not sure when this happened, but previously the Theme Panel included a Sub Footer option to turn off copyright. That subfooter option isn’t available in 12.7, so the copyright just shows up.

It’s located in the footer.php file, and even when I deleted it safely, the
(C) Newspaper by Tag Div is on the bottom of all my mobile pages.

Where is it so we can remove, hopefully not like I’m doing which will be lost in any updates?

Can they remove the copyright from the footer file, or give us the option to turn it off again?

Disregard, I fixed it, thanks for the help. Tweaked memory on my server and got it to work.

Found the problem is with TD Composer, it’s memory usage impacts everything and I have a hard limit of 256MB for WordPress, seeing if I can adjust that temporarily.

When I turned off TD Composer plugin, the whole theme shut down of course.

Likely this means it controls the whole theme, though when I closed it I got a warning message that TD Cloud Library needed an update, and I’ve updated everything to newspaper 12.6.7

Seeing if that’s incorrect, I’m on TD Cloud Library 3.6 updated on 08/28/2024.

Of course it doesn’t, but my setup does backup automatically – everything, not just wordpress or MySQL. I don’t need the theme to do that, which might be a source of the conflict.

I’ve run WP for 20 years as well, and while not an expert, I understand these basics, as should automatic backups be part of what any setup includes in my approach.

Newspaper has a list of backups under Import/Export, which and my database is filled with old backups under a file I may/may not be able to not autoload.

Some people are deleting old Newspaper backups from Import/Export to fix 70% of this.

I don’t lack system resources, and my version of PHP isn’t the problem, looked at those as anyone would.

WP-Admin is being asked to do something my host doesn’t agree with so to speak. Figuring it out and this site has been online since 1994….ran my own servers for way too many years, but now it’s part of shared hosting.

Still not getting an answer of how Newspaper creates and saves these old versions of Newspaper in Import/Export, as well as in MySQL, ballooning the size of my database and impacting load times significantly.

You’d think there’d be an easier way to get rid of old Newspaper backups, but from my research it’s been a problem for years that most don’t notice, because they don’t look at their MYSQL data.

This helps, what about td_011_settings in wp_options, can I turn autodownload to No, or would that impact like td_011?

Makes sense, though wondering with the Import/Export page on Newspapers Theme Panel launches what appears to be a separate page, related to the database I’m guessing since backups are included here as well.

Is this involving a call to the MySQL database unlike other pages in the Theme Panel?

And how does Newspaper backup itself, is there a setting I can turn on or off, as I have total site backups done daily and that might also be a conflict.

Any guidance appreciated, thanks!

I don’t see an error message in Console for this page, but do see this file referenced:
https://remember.org/wp-admin/admin.php?page=td_theme_panel&td_page=td_view_import_export_settings

That’s getting the 500 error.

>>> This error happens when I try to save in Theme Panel for the mobile theme:

Error Message when trying to save in Theme Panel

This is the error message when I generally try to save in Theme Panel, the square icon keeps spinning with a 500 error for:
https://remember.org/wp-admin/admin-ajax.php?td_theme_name=Newspaper&v=12.6.7

I’m not sure it’s related to this import/export problem, but stops me from updating the mobile themes. Thought it might be related.

My system shows a critical error when I try to go to Theme Panel > Import/Export, weird.

So I can’t update that, and not sure where backups settings are. Will look into it, my server backs up everything, so there might be a conflict there.

Fixed it – so funny, I was sure it wasn’t a plugin, which is the obvious look, and it was the EWW Image Optimizer plugin, which blocked it and a bunch of pages.

Turned it off and voila! Pages appear.

So funny how when I give advice to others, this would be the first, but when it happens to me, I think I know it’s not a plugin…and it is. This one was updated recently, which should have been the clue, which I ignored.

Thanks!

So weird, I’m on A2 Hosting, which has a WordPress optimizing program, plus Litespeed cache, and this only happens on a few pages…and the one I referenced is down AGAIN today…crazy.

https://remember.org/komski/komski-paintings1-001

I am seeing that the last script before the blank page is Litespeed cache, Lazy Loading…that’s my current guess that for some reason the lazy load impacts this.

Did notice I was wrong though about what page shows up: I get the title of the page, but the template doesn’t include my header and footer.

My Newspaper theme does have a Mobile theme, which this might be showing as well…so weird it’s only on these 2 pages, as far as I know….will go through the site again and see if other pages are showing, but tends to be only these two…

Those are two of the most popular though…so might just be getting notified about them and not the others.
