We will, thank you!
Just heard that we found another possible problem cause: we imported 400 pages from Joomla into new WordPress posts during which the default category of the new WordPress posts was mixed up. Sorry for this.
We have some posts linked to max 2 other categories.
Latest update: we installed Newspaper from scratch again and it looks everthing looks fine now. Did you have an update without updating the version number by accident?
Happy now, thanks for your patience!
Jos
Nope that doesn’t work unfortunately, as we already tried that.
Will investigate further. Perhaps it will be a good idea if your team does also this test so that you understand what is going faulty.
Thank you!
Hi!
Oke, what I try to achieve is that if someone click on the black category button, they see all postings of that category. You/Bettina wrote to set the filter settings to the resulting page, but again if I do that (edit and set filter option to that category), that filter goes for every page that is linked to any category button.
Hope this explains all. Thank you.
Nope, that is not the case. If you hover over the title head and click on it, the article itself is shown.
If you move your mouse cursor under it, on the tag, for some reason the title head is also blue.
Anyway, if you click on the category tag, it activates the title in blue as well and brings you to a page of which I set the filtering last. So not the applicable filtering for that message (which is in a different category).
I think it is a flaw in de template. Can that be?
Sorry, you guys are so hard to understand. Please help us out on this.
Still not solved as I am not a programmer 😉
Don’t know, I suspect you(r team) did investigate as I sent you in a PM the login credentials? Btw how do we send a PM from within a forum topic as all information written here is public. Thank you.
That is exactly what we try to do. Let me explain what is happening
1.
> If I click on this tag: https://prnt.sc/ve568HZEL0e6, then it leads me on
> the correct page: https://prnt.sc/u-dOw8it7NqN
Correct, the page says ‘RC Nieuws’ but its content has no RC Nieuws related articles in it.
2.
> If you mean these tags are different: https://prnt.sc/_ad7x_etWVS1 , then
> please edit this page https://cloudzeeland.nl/category/rcnieuws/ with the
> TagDiv Composer and check the filter of that block
Yep, that is what we do. Only after that, and click on another category tag, the name of that page is ok, but the content of that page (or the set filter) is exactly the same as the one I altered at (1).
Now just click on another category tag in an image.
You now will see that if you click again on the category tag (1), it brings you to the page with the correct heading, but with the content we set filtering at (2).
Hope this will be more clear to you. All help is appreciated.
Yes, that is exactly what I did, but as in that block are different category postings it comes out in a wrong category after clicking on the black category tag.
In such case one always has to check evt custom css @ Newspaper -> Theme Panel -> Custom Code -> Custom CSS 🙂
I completely oversaw that and found that the css line at the bottom of the site was in there. Once I removed it, the line was gone.
What I ask myself: how can a css line be displayed as text, as its function is to readdress the way something (optically) is behaving/showing instead of being displayed?
