All plugins are updated. Pls see @ https://imgur.com/jF4fHcb

Only this one isn’t:

Plugins disabled automatically
The following plugins were disabled because they are incompatible with this version of Newspaper: tagDiv Mobile Theme
For update please check the plugins section

Which I checked, but no outdated after last upgrade?

In fact, when creating a post, I just have my standard editor without any Newspaper options available. Should I go back to the previous version of Newspaper or can you assist online? Thank you.

Perhaps my Newspaper subscription period has been broken?

Thanks, request has been sent. As it will benefit all users of Newspaper (maintenance wise) I hope it will be available for all of us. Happy weekend, Jos

What I now do is before removing a posting, I check the image name (example.jpg) that belongs to it. Then I perform a ‘find’ in Unix and detect all images that have the ‘example-‘ (watch the hyphen) notation thus leaving out the original image in my media library and delete them by hand.
Someone in for a short script? Unfortunately I am not a programmer ;-(

Thanks for thinking with us. I can think of a solution on this:

From the WP Menu -> Tools -> Regenerate thumbnails is an existing function that is fed by the image dimensions that are defined in Newspaper. Would it be a great idea to not only regenerate, but also check if the image, that will be regenerated, is actually linked to a page or post? If not, we then can opt to delete the applicable image thumbnails to be deleted instead of being regenerated, thus leaving only the original image existing and available in the Media folder.

Anyone interested in developing this great function with us? I am not a programmer, but I think there might be an opportunity using WP-CLI to do this! @ https://wp-cli.org/

I can imagine I am not the only one with this. Are there other people who found a solution for this? Thanks.

Hi Bettina,
Thanks for this. Does it work with the search function of Newspaper?

Thanks for noticing this. Have no clue why both block were set to ‘invisible for visitors’. Magic still happens every day…

Reply is on its way, thank you.

When I log in to WordPress and go from frontpage into tagdiv composer, all blocks are showing. On other computers viewing the same frontpage, some blocks are gone.
Also when I logout and then view the frontpage, the same blocks also do not show.
Thank you
Jos

No, sorry it is back again.
We followed up your kind suggestions.
Please let us know a workaround for this.

No caching active. Strangely we discovered that Newspaper itself uses kind of caching itself. So I set in AIO Security:

AOI Security -> Country blocking -> Enable Country Blocking AJAX

and that did the trick.
Still very curious what is exactly going on here. I read somewhere that it even could be caused by activated reCaptcha (which I have active as well). Thanks.

Thanks, this will really help.
I asked because I couldn’t change the font size in het example you gave. Will give it another try.
Best, Jos

Thanks for that!
Saw the hyphens in CSS settings, but thought that meant to be no value (zero).

Using Gutenberg you can choose the image from your media library. If you go to Edit image -> Scale image is it set to the actual dimension of the image?

Issue(s) solved. Found them @ CSS settings tab.
Thanks!

Hi,
1. Thanks, but that unfortunately doesn’t work, as some rows exist of separate columns (we already tried).
Just need to set the template width itself (with rows/columns width automatically following).
2. This is setting the background of the theme, not the background of the template itself (3). Pls check @ https://cloudzeeland.nl. We set background to blue’ish image, which indeed is showing at the borders.

Thank you!

Thanks for this, Bettina.

Additional
In order to reorganize my thumbnails to only the ones that I need with current template configuration, I
– Disabled all ‘Thumbs on modules/blocks’ settings (and saved setting).
– Browsing the pages, Newspaper signals missing thumbnail dimensions
– Enable these in the ‘Thumbs on modules/blocks’ configuration.

After this, I launched the installed ‘Regenerate Thumbnails’ plugin.
If someone of you has a procedure on how to remove images/thumbnails of non-existing post or pages, we would really appreciate your input.

Thank You!

Thanks, I already know that for ages (I wrote ‘that is added in WordPress’) 🙂
I would like to know how to embed this in the Newspaper template with TagDiv Composer.
Thank you!
