I like your theme so far and you guys have been quick with replies on the questions I asked. I am however a bit bummed that this issue has been going on for two years, as it seems, without being resolved. Makes me nervous about future. What is the issue with resolving this problem with Facebook? I have never, not once, had this issue when sharing content on Facebook from other peoples websites including WordPress sites.

Okay, so can you recommend or give some insight to what you mean by:

-proper file/image
-unique file name
-right size
-appropriate OG tags

Okay, I followed the instructions but still no thumbnail when I post to Facebook as you can see here:

The post I made that changed the background is not single_template_8 it is set to default, but just to make sure I changed it to style 7. While it did change the format of the post it had no effect on the home page. So you must be talking about the home page template. But those aren’t listed in a format such as “single_template_8” but rather names. In the end I just decided to create my own layout using the elements, this was quite a bit easier and perhaps better in the long run. I still wanted to have a large picture at the top so I initially chose the big slider. Only the featured image didn’t show up. I couldn’t figure out why so I just moved on to what I have now.
