I would like to add that I imported posts from a site to this site. The images for the posts from the imported site were added manually they were not featured posts. I just don’t understand that when I imported the posts from the other site that the images at the top of each post would not show up. I do not want to have to manually add the images to each post from the site that I imported. The imported site has over 5,000 posts. To manually add images to over 5,000 posts would take a lot time. I hope that this information is helpful.

Are you saying that I need to deactivate each one of these and then add a featured image to my posts according to the documentation you provided?
