Hello Simion,
Thank you for the additional resources and file locations.

I was actually able to complete this once I found the Theme API documentation. I successfully added my own image size utilizing the TD_API_module: add function (https://forum.tagdiv.com/td_api_moduleadd/) in a plugin and then customizing the template for a specific module we will use just for these vertical layouts.

We are now all set and thanks for pointing in the right direction.

Thank you Simion for the explanation.

We are somewhat comfortable with some coding and updating on our own. Can you tell me what files would need to be modified if we wanted to attempt this to get a better vertical format layout?

Thanks!

Thanks, This didn’t quite do the trick but we have found that the theme can’t do this the way we anticipated. We wanted one block of 7 posts with a constant rotation of only one from each category to display. E.g. We hoped for the first post in a big grid to always display the most recent post from the category “Fashion”, the second post is always newest from category “music”, and so on. But we found this is not possible.

Thanks.

Thanks, I didn’t realize that this one block used multiple modules. This works now.

Thanks for the help. I found a hidden caching plugin that I believe was the culprit under wp-content/mu-plugins/… which must have been installed by previous host. Thanks for the help and when the builder works, it works great.

Thank you Catalin. I just sent the email with admin login credentials.

FYI, At this point, I have completely removed most old plugins and deactivated those that are specifically not included with the theme. I have overwritten all of the core WordPress files with a fresh install of 4.8.1, deleted and then re-installed the theme on 2 separate occasions, double-checked for any caching resources, and still the issues persist. I am at a loss as to why this isn’t working.

Thanks for your continued assistance!

I’m getting the same warnings but I do have the debugger turned off…

define(‘WP_DEBUG’, false);

but note that the workaround doesn’t work for me. Even if I set the post offset to 0, it persists.

Hello Catalin,
That is not it – I do not have any active caching system in place as you can see from the themes status report page. No CDN, no .htaccess caching rules, etc. and even if I try in a private browser with no cache, the issue persists and is making the theme unusable for us.

How can I send PM private login details so I can get some additional assistance?

Thanks, Kory

I am also having trouble with block titles not saving, filters not saving, etc.:

Perhaps and ajax issue?

Hello, I am sorry for the delay in getting back sooner… I was out of the office on medical leave.

I have tried deactivating all of the existing plugins with only the 2 required Newspaper / tagDiv plugins remaining active and updated the theme to the most current version 8.1:

I also double-checked by removing all previous plugins via FTP and even with the updates and the removal of all other plugins, I am still having this issue:

System status is all correct: https://www.awesomescreenshot.com/image/2710240/6df6ef2d7100f625d080eec065ec4b52

I cannot get a homepage layout to work without this functionality so I look forward to your assistance.

Thanks, Kory

Hi Catalin,
I am having a variety of other issues as well… for example I will set up my menu to display my “primary menu” and it will show up for a while and then all of the sudden those settings are lost and it makes me set them up again. I also set up the header options (e.g. display my social buttons) and they also disappear after some amount of time.

Here are my system status settings:

Thanks, I did find the category ID selector, but I would like to have 1 post from each category display rather than the 7 newest from all categories. E.g. the first box is “Category 1,” second box is “category 2,” etc.

Is this possible?

Hello Catalin,
That does not appear to have fixed it. I verified the PHP settings (screenshot below), purged all caches, and then tried again and still not getting results:

https://www.awesomescreenshot.com/image/2650274/2f18ceffb0829a049c19afc40e38564e

To clarify, it does save my changes – e.g. if I add a new block, it will save the block and it’s placement. It is simply not honoring / updating any of my filters or settings (e.g. category specifications, limit post numbers, etc.).

Here are the current PHP.ini settings:
https://www.awesomescreenshot.com/image/2650289/5da7f1ea7ee0f6c4002b9faafc42b26a

Thanks and please let me know how to proceed.

Please note, the theme doesn’t seem to be honoring any of my filters, including limit post number” but also other things like specific categories. For example, this block is set to display only specific category of “Ask the Oracle” but it is clearly showing posts from the category”Recipes.” So, it is set to a category filter of ID 4, but is actually only showing the 3 latest posts that don’t have that ID at all.

Here is a screenshot of the settings and results: https://www.awesomescreenshot.com/image/2646935/8df3d31dd1676fee90d7f6b7bdf7af1a

As well as the posts lists to clarify that they are categorized appropriately:
https://www.awesomescreenshot.com/image/2646927/4d4525f47bcb3f7e7c586bcfbc4d57cc

This is likely related to the limit post numbers, but maybe not. Thanks for your assistance in advance.
