Where do I edit the PHP files…I did it within WordPress file editor…is that right?

Hello,

I’m working on my blog and want to set up email subscription AND RSS Feed.
1. Is this the proper way to do this?
2. How does this configure with the new “Newsletter” plugin in available in 8.7?
3. If use a plugin like “Email Subscribers & Newsletters”, why don’t I have to sign up for something like FeedBurner?
