Thank you for this information about how to disable the very intrusive banner. But in future I would recommend including a close box on the ads to make them go away once they have been acknowledged, as most other developers do. I don’t mind seeing an announcement from you, but I don’t want it on every admin screen for ever and ever and ever…..
Hi
With huge thanks for the great support team at TagDiv it turns out that in my case it was caused by a conflict with a widget from Modern Events Calendar on the sidebar.
Chris
Hi Anamaria
I have checked the wp-content directory as you suggested and there is no object-cache.php file there. So I will pass it on via contact@tagdiv.com
Chris
The site is http://www.hihub.info and the category with the issue is “News in Brief” such as https://www.hihub.info/news-in-brief/night-closures-on-butt-lane-milton/
Thanks
Chris
Actually scratch that last comment – the counter was updating, but has now stopped đ
I tried turning off the cache and clearing the cache and disabling plug-ins. It did not change the lack of counting
The popular post sorting is turned on and is working with posts from this category but the Page View Counter that you see at the top of the page with the little eye symbol is not incrementing on the posts.
In the end I tried recreating the template for the category again and now the counting is working again. So I am not sure what happened but it is working now.
I have tried turning âAjax view countâ off and and on. When off the counter (Set to âTheme Post Viewsâ) increases on a non cached view of the page, but not on a cached view of the page. When I turn âAjax view countâ back on again the counter stops increasing again, but still works on all the other post categories on the site.
The memory was set to 256M when the problem first occurred and I increased the setting to 400M which did not change anything. I am checking with the hosting provider the exact details, but have not had a response yet.
I think this problem may have started when I upgraded to 10.3.5 but downgrading did not resolve it.
Hi Vlad
Before I did this I turned on debug mode (by editing wp-config.php) and in the log I saw a lot of calls related to the GPDR Cookie Consent plug-in. So I have disabled that and now everything seems to be working properly – I can edit pages with TagDiv and preview pages. So the last step was nothing to do with TagDiv, but thanks for the help.
Chris
The site is running, but now the TagDiv composer is not unable to open a page or even create a new page.
So with some more work downgrading and then upgrading in the correct order. There was still a problem rendering but clearing out the cache and cookies in the browser, or running in an incognito window, fixed it. So everything is working now.
So I spotted the mistake in that I upgraded to WordPress 5.4 BEFORE Newspaper 10.3.2, but I am now in the situation that the mobile version seems OK but the desktop versions are not working and I eventually get a Gateway 504 error. So is there anything I can do to recover this?
