Well, thanks for the responses these last couple of days – much appreciated…
It now appears that if I deactivate the Modern Events Calendar (MEC) plugin, the search works fine both in the back-end and front-end.
So…next step is to contact MEC support!

Just an update on my previous message to you re the Search functions.

I am now also unable to use the Search facility in the admin area in relation to:

– the Media Library and the Listings.

Searching for specific images in the Media Gallery results in ‘No Media Files Found’

Searching using keywords/categories in the Listings now results in a display of posts based on the keywords and not relevant listings.

I have another website using your theme without any Directories Plugin being used and that has the same issue when looking for images in the Media Gallery.

Can you please let me know if this is a bug?

Thanks for your reply.
We had previously updated the site to V9.7.3 as per tagDiv’s guidance. Everything worked fine. The search worked fine. Only once we updated to v9.7.4 did we have the issue.
Am getting the authors of the Directory Listings plugin to check the effectiveness of their plugin when it comes to the search side of things.

Thanks for your response. What I meant to include in my original query was….I thought there were issues with the Cloud Library templates and the mobile menus not working as well as expected..and these were being worked on with a view to a fix being implemented. If these bugs were being implemented soon, then I would prefer to hang on before purchasing…

Hope you didn’t mind me pointing it out to you..
I will have a look at your link. I only have the issue with images used on the directory part on my site at the moment, using a plugin (I know, everyone’s favourite thing!) but I have just changed the way the images display for now…I am not technical so will wait to see what tagDiv offer and then refer to the guy does the clever stuff.

Thanks for the info re the modal images. Just to let you know, I clicked on your link

and then on the Newspaper Speed Guide image in your article and the images worked.
I then clicked on your green ‘The Nerdy Student’ banner which took me to your blog post
‘Jetpack for WordPress Speed Guide’. Clicking on the image shows that the images from 6 to 10 don’t load up.
Great site though, full of interesting tips.

On a different note your theme is excellent…would write more, but pushed for time. when my site is properly launched, will review it and publish the review.
