Perfect — thank you!
The good news is the counter works.
When I approved your comment, it showed 1.
It looks like the real issue is how the text looks mashed up.
It looks like there are two overlapping bubbles and then a zero.
I had a friend try the slider on his and it displays his name, the date, and the count.
It looks like mine is displaying my name, two overlapping bubbles and the count.
Is there a way to fix the overlapping bubbles?
Got it.
I understand for this round to do the update to 7 and then redo the customization.
Going forward from Newspaper 7, will I be able to update without breaking configuration of the theme?
If so, how so?

I submitted my site to the showcase.
It’s Sources of Insight.com.
It’s a site for helping empower people and realize their potential.
Or, more precisely, it’s a knowledge base of more than 1,300 articles for Personal Effectiveness.
Would it be possible for TagDiv to create a simple page to showcase Newspaper Theme developers and consultants?
I’ve been getting more colleagues and friends to want to use the Newspaper Theme, but they want to pay people to help them. They do not want to become Newspaper Theme developers, they don’t want to try to translate their questions into the forums, and try to learn things they don’t know.
And, at the same time, it’s hard to find developers and consultants to trust that actually can do a good job.

At last, I found how to flip on Latest Articles:
In the page editor, under Page Attributes on the right hand side, change Template from “default” to “Pagebuilder + latest articles + pagination”

I think you found the ticket.
It looks like LazyLoad was the main issue.
I had turned it off in WP Rocket (well, I had actually never turned it on.)
I found the LazyLoad in Newspaper, but the description wasn’t clear to me:
Image Loading – animations (LazyLoad)
Use Loading Animation Image (this is the thing to turn off)
Loading Effect
* Fade [full] – checked by default
* Fade & Scale
* Up fade
I’m sure I have a lot more fixing to do, but the primary user experience issue was the LazyLoading.
Thank you,
JD
Here is my embarrassment so far:
Sources of Insight –
http://SourcesOfInsight.com
It’s a site dedicated to empowering people and helping everyone become all that they’re capable of.
The main idea is to share insight and action from the best books, people, and quotes to help people “Stand on the shoulders of giants” … and ultimately, to run with the titans.
The embarrassing part is my site performance.
Chances are, if you hit the site, no images will show, and the site will timeout.
I love the Newspaper Theme.
I have what I’ve done with it.
If I could make the most of the Newspaper Theme, I would have a powerful site to help underdogs around the world realize their potential and get better results in work and life.

Ah, I see the only way to know which version is inside is to re-download my multiple Newspaper downloads.
Interestingly, when I re-downloaded one, in the Update Log it showed 6.3.2.
When I re-downloaded my other one, it showed 6.3.3.
When I re-downloaded the other one, it then showed 6.3.3.
(this was all in the span of < 5 minutes.)
All’s well that ends well.
Thank you,
JD
