Thanks Nairolf. One more question before I do the upgrade…

If I upgrade now using the FTP method, from version 6.6 to v7.4, will we lose all the various settings we have already made? There are hundreds of settings in the Newspaper theme and it took us weeks to get them all right. I would hate to have to start all over again.

Thanks Andrei and Nairolf. I have followed the instructions and have successfully upgraded Visual Composer to the current version.

However, I’m now seeing a nag message near the top of the screen asking me to ‘activate’ my copy of Visual Composer, even though it is already activated. Please take a look at this screenshot –

What should I do about that?

Also, will it now be safe to use the Envato Tolkit (in the same screenshot) to update the Newspaper theme automatically or will that overwrite the Visual Composer update I have just installed?

Hi Andrei, we would like a Google Translate box to appear near the top of the page. The solution you gave to Gideon worked but pushed everything down the screen slightly. We would prefer it if the Translate box could go just below, on the black bar that also contains the date. Here is a mock-up to show you what I mean…

That works well Andrei. However, could you tell me where the Google code should be placed to make the translation box appear on the next line down (with the black background to the left of the date)?

Hi, I have a similar problem. I’ve used footer style 1 and while there is content for Popular posts and Popular Category, there is no content for Editor Picks. The area under the heading is empty. Any ideas?

Also, is it possible to change the heading ‘Popular Category’ to ‘Popular Categories’? Because more than one Category is being displayed, the plural should be used rather than the singular ‘Category’. If you can tell me which file it’s in I can change it myself if you like.
