lucian, I disabled all the plugins and it is still a issue, I also noticed on themeforest, someone else had mentioned an issue with html anchors, was anything found to be a concern with that?

Hey Lucian, I think the issue is the smart sidebar, it is treating the forum as a sidebar, since the smart sidebar doesn’t work on mobile devices, I tested a tablet and phone and the post links don’t even go to the posts, they just go right to the top of the topic, so it’s acting the same as the sidebar on mobile.

I made a thread on the simple-press forum and this was their thoughts

the post link is to an anchor… that is a spot directly on the page… there is no scrolling to the new post… it just goes directly to it…

so sounds like a plugin or theme doing it…

I tried turning off the smart sidebar but the issue persists, any ideas? Thank-you.

As far as the scrolling, if you look at the footer there is a list of recent posts, the links are directly for the last posts in the thread, normally, you click the link and it takes you directly to that last post, newsmag (for me anyways) when you click on a link, it takes you to the top of the thread and then the page scrolls down to the last post, thank-you.

here you go, you can see several examples on this forum post, also it has a weird scroll affect, instead of going right to the postit goes to the top of the page and scrolls down it, I have never seen that before, any suggestions for that as well?

one last question on simple-press, the quote function for the theme is over riding the quote function of the forum, centering it, etc, is there anyway to over ride that without over riding the whole theme?

this fixed the issue, but it is created a huge gap on the bottom, some reason it had a padding on the bottom of 99999px in the content and the footer, so I changed the auto in your code to 0 and it seems to have fixed that issue, thank-you for your help!

true, but it works perfect with newspaper and several other themes I have tested it with, so hopefully it’s an easy fix
