I think I found it – it was in general theme colors as you mentioned rather than in the VC page edits.

This finally changed. The mobile search page color is fixed, thank you.

Deactivating Essential grid removed it. Do I need to have essential grid? Will it cause problems if I remove it?

Deactivating Essential Grid fixed the broken image problem on my other post. Do I need to have essential grid activated though? Is it important to the theme?
