Custom sidebar is one of the feature of Newspaper theme. You can create multiple different sidebar for different post.

If you have created the mobile version of the page, the right bar is not existed.

The desktop page and mobile page become 2 different templates (designs), which you can edit and arrange the components of each of them differently.

You may activate the mobile at:

[theme panel] > [mobile theme] > [mobile settings]
> USE MOBILE THEME FOR > select “AMP” > save settings

(just to make sure you have activate toolbar at frontend)
then, go to [wordpress menu bar] > users > select and edit your user
at the “Toolbar” > make sure you select “Show Toolbar when viewing site”
at the “AMP Developer Tools” > make sure to enable “Enable AMP developer tools to surface validation errors when editing posts and viewing the site”

you may start editing the mobile page.

in this newspaper theme, editing the main page for desktop pc and mobile are 2 different designs

A quick review on creating the mobile. 2 ways to create mobile page:

[wordpress admin menu bar] > [pages] > find your page (the home page) and select [edit with TD composer]
in short, edit the page with “TD composer”.

now you hav enter the TD composer editor, at the left panel where you can see “Welcome to tagDiv Composer”, at the top, you should be able to see either [create mobile page] or [edit mobile page].

there, you go, click on that button, you’ll start creating mobile version of the page.

while you have already log in, go to the page (in this case, the home page), at the top center toolbar, at the green button [edit with TagDiv composer], at right side, you will see the option to create or select the mobile page version.

You need to first import the template from the desktop page. Then only you can edit the header/footer (for mobile version).

The steps:

While you are editing the mobile page in tagDiv composer, click the [Manager] or [Website Manager]

then…

[header] > [convert template] > select the template header that is used by the normal page (desktop page)

then…

[footer] > [convert template] > select the template footer that is used by the normal page (footer page)

Then, the header, menu sidebar and footer are all unlocked for editing.

To edit the background image of sidebar menu:
> go to [theme panel] > background > mobile menu/search background > background image

I think you have activated the mobile page, the mobile page requires another separate editing.

Desktop page and mobile page, both template design works are separated. Therefore whatever you have done at the desktop page has no affect on the mobile page.

You can first try to read the info in this discussion:

Then, simply edit the mobile page, import the header template, then you can start editing the header section (for mobile page) just like how you edit the header of desktop page.

Assuming that you are using the latest version of “Newspaper”.

You can first verify that if the mobile plugin is installed or not (which I think you have already activated it), but in case not (just to verify)….

at the [newspaper] > welcome

This will unlock all 3 areas (the header, menu sidebar and footer) for editing.

If you can edit the page with tagDiv composer, you actually editing header,body and footer at the same time. So go ahead to edit the page, and you’ll be able to change anything at the footer.

But however, if you have activate the mobile page, the mobile footer seems to be not able to be edited at the moment. Hope I’m wrong. I still searching for the section that allow me to edit the footer for mobile page.

ScottLehane, nice one. You hit the nail. Just click (left click) on the row element or empty column, then right click the word “Row” in the little square box, in the context menu, the “Delete” option is enabled, and click that to delete it.

Problem solved.

I have been searching high and low for this solution, luckily a google search leads me to this discussion.

My apology for the 1st statement. After I gradually get used to the environment and settings of the theme setup, I am slowly able to get the works done.

This is because I was fresh new at this, and initially I was confused.

Nonetheless, THIS is really a COOL THEME. Congratulation for the TagDiv team to create such a marvelous theme. Thank you.

Hi bhvjesnik, thanks for the hint. I found the section to do this at
[wordpress menu] > [cloud templates] > single post template > then find the button described in the article to disable the infinite loading.

Ok, I have found the solution.
Many of the components in the post template is overriding the original settings of wordpress. So, edit the settings of wordpress won’t affect much on the components of the post layout. The post layout is called post template.

Here is the steps to edit the sidebar:
At the menu bar of wordpress, click on [cloud templates], then find [single post template] > then click on [edit with tagdiv composer]

I have tried to edit the sidebar at widget, but nothing happens.
Then I created a new sidebar, and put in the components that I want.
Then I go to edit a post and assigned the new side bar, but yet when viewing the page as user, nothing happens. everything still looks the same as it is.
