Hi Anamaria.

I have tried those suggestions previously, but have given them one more go to for you with no changes visible.

Yes as your images show the paywall is functional but the issue is the unauthorised content message which appears over the post contents. It should appear the same on both of those posts.

As an example of the message working correctly see this site using a different theme, Working memberpress content message. The paywall unauthorised content message should appear over the post body text excerpt whilst leaving the rest of the post template (title, sidebar, related content) unaffected.

Here is an example of one of the posts without the paywall activated:
post without paywall

Of the examples in the first post obviously the first example is closer as it is set to use the standard (single post template 4) where as the Romania news pro template produces just an excerpt and the unauthorised message.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hi Anamaria.

Thank you for you initial reply. I have updated both wordpress (to 5.7.1) and the existing Newsmag theme (to 4.9.6). Still, once the theme has been uploaded, upon clicking activate I am presented with the following message:

Warning: require_once(legacy/Newspaper/functions.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /var/www/html/wp-content/plugins/td-composer/td-composer.php on line 184

Fatal error: require_once(): Failed opening required ‘legacy/Newspaper/functions.php’ (include_path=’.:/usr/share/php’) in /var/www/html/wp-content/plugins/td-composer/td-composer.php on line 184
There has been a critical error on this website. Please check your site admin email inbox for instructions.

I am leaning towards it being a problem with the local ddev setup as /var/www/html/wp-content/plugins/td-composer/td-composer.php may be where the file would have been on the original webserver. Is there something special needed to work on your themes locally?

Thanks

Martin
