A wish for future Theme versions: generate thumbnails for featured images only - reply

I use Newspaper Theme and I can say you I solved this issue. I use 2 plugins for saving space in my hosting:

  • WP Smush – it helps for reducing image size (but there are other tools)
  • Optimize Images Resizing – it improves WP image sizes generation and save your hosting space

With Optimize Images Resizing you will have a thumb generated only if it is needed by your theme.
I had some categories in a block, others in other blocks. I had 10 different thumbs for each image: it was stressful. Now I have only 2-3 thumbs for each image.

Maybe this advise can help someone.
