After I updated the theme I’m having the same problem and I use cloud templates.

Yes, I was testing that, thank you, but when you click to enlarge the image, it will open the modal image, not the full image. And I need it to open the full image for the user, not the scaled-down version.

For example, if I set the option there for the “Medium 696x0px”, it will display there nicely, but when you click in to the image to enlarge, it will open this Medium version, not the full image. That is the ONLY problem.

Also I need to check the box “Modal images” for the images to be clicable.

Yes I’m using this gallery, thank you.

The gallery is not working in a optimized way. Like I sayed I will need to customize so it takes small version of the images (those that WordPress generate thumbnail, average and big), but when the user clicks on the image, it open’s the full image.

I have the same issue when I try to disable Google Fonts…

I putted some custom fonts to disable the google fonts, and this “JUMP” of the fonts happens…

I personaly like the theme and I do have a lot of custom codes in it. But I do agree that must be something not good with the theme (do not know what). It look’s harder to achieve field core web vitalis with it. I also see a lot of webmasters switching this theme for others because of the core web vitals.

tagDiv developers should focus 100% on that, I think.

Google Core Web Vitals hold us accountable for users bad connection and processing power. So, all we can do is our best… My scores are 100 in lab tests (with newspapper), but not so good in field data. And we also have AdSense and so on…

The Pro theme is ultra optimized for that, but I hope it can improve. Core Web Vitals is a very unfair and HARD thing in my opinion and I have a good investment in CDN (Cloudflare) and so on…

For last, I’m always here reading this forum for help in ways I can improve…

If anyone ever search for this. The best code for the gallery images in the slider is this one:

With this code all images in the gallery with fit 100% perfect.

For some reason Field Data and Origin Summary LCP are hard to drop down with Newspapper theme. I see that in every site with the tagDiv theme…

I have that in 0,5 and 0,8 s in lab data, but currently 4,4 s with 45% green, 26% yellow and 29% red in Origin Summary. Some individual pages with field data have better scores…

I’m using every feature from WP Rocket…

The theme is good already, you can have 100/100 in Page Speed Insigths with WP Rocket, CloudFlare and following the audits from Lighthouse for Chrome. They just need to remove document.write() and maybe do some tweaks.

For example the Lazy Load from the theme is beautifull, but it generates CLS and LCP, so you need to turn that off and use the lazyload from Wp Rocket… Things like that can put the theme in 100/100…

I really believe that this document.write() is the main problem for the higher scores shwon in the Field Data and in the Origin Sumary fields in Page Speed Insigths.

My socres are good in the Lab Data, but not that good in those others and i do use Wp Rocket, Cloudflare Pro and the Automatic Platfrom Optimization from Cloudflare (APO): https://support.cloudflare.com/hc/en-us/articles/360049822312-Understanding-Automatic-Platform-Optimization-APO-with-WordPress

GTmetrix show that “for users on slow connections, external scripts dynamically injected via document.write() can delay page load by tens of seconds”.

So, i think that the theme need an urgent update, specially before may 2021, otherwise we gonna have to change the theme, and i do not want to do that because i like the Newspapper a very LOT.
