Also having this problem. We using Kinsta cache (from our hosting company), uninstalled and reinstalled but the issue has not been resolved.

Thank you Bettina, I have tried the full size image select on the images we currently have on our homepage, category pages and single post pages and they are still not populating thumbs on mobile. I have also downloaded and run the regenerate thumbs plugin with the same result. Please advise on what else I can try. Thank you

I am also experiencing this issue on americanfaith.com, uninstalling/deleting/reinstalling composer did not fix the issue.
