Thanks. I don’t have the expertise to do this unless it’s fairly easy.
Any other suggestions?
Thanks for your help with this. I did share all the server configuration information with the tech team at my hosting service. They have made all the suggested changed to PHP memory, etc. They assure me that their servers are configured correctly.
This is the latest from the tech team and WPMU DEV (hosting company): “The issue seems to be related by the number of queries run by the tagDiv theme/plugin and it’s constantly running CPU usage on high percentage.
When the page is cached the load is fine so if you have some automated cache clearing configured in WP Super Cache it’s possible that it clears cache at some point and then you experience slow loading times again.
From what I see it’s timeout is set to 30 minutes so between the cache being cleared and new cache file being created the loading times will be affected.
Server configurations are usually different so we can’t be sure why the tagDiv is behaving differently than on Bluehost, it could be that it’s not working fine with Memcache or some other server settings but it’s definitely something with tagDiv if you see your site running fine when that is disabled.”
Anything you can do to help with this, would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Ray
I am receiving this error when I try to activate mobile them after the last newspaper update: Fatal error: Cannot redeclare td_on_global_after_mobile_panel() (previously declared in /home/scienda1/public_html/wp-content/plugins/td-mobile-plugin.BROKEN/td-mobile-plugin.php:59) in /home/scienda1/public_html/wp-content/plugins/td-mobile-plugin/td-mobile-plugin.php on line 74.
Based on the comments above, I reactivated the plugin after turning off all plugins first. Still, no luck. FYI, Jetpack mobile them is NOT activated.
Hello, I’m using NP 9.2.1. with WP 5.0. PageSpeed says:
Defer offscreen images. It’s my biggest issue.
Lazyload is turned on in Newspaper template settings. What am I missing?

Calin,
Just installed the latest newspaper update received this morning. Problem solved! I guess the issue wasn’t on my side.
Thanks for your help
Thanks Calin,
I’ve tried with Chrome, Safari, Firefox. Cleared all browser histories/caches.
No images showing on home or category pages (on the article, yes).
Another issue I noticed this morning was when I go to edit a post, i receive only a blank screen.
Any other suggestions?

Having a similar problem with tagdiv composer. I get this message:
The plugin does not have a valid header.
Downloading installation package from http://www.scienceandtechnologyresearchnews.com/wp-content/themes/Newspaper/includes/plugins/td-composer.zip?uid=5a959593c59f5…
Unpacking the package…
The package could not be installed. PCLZIP_ERR_BAD_FORMAT (-10) : Unable to find End of Central Dir Record signature
Any suggestions?
Simon,
thanks for your help with this. Simple fix.
I didn’t check this because I didn’t change the size of my thumbnails. I assumed it was a problem with the theme. Although the problem is solved, I still don’t know what caused the size to change.
Thanks again,
Ray
I was able to finally reinstall visual composer and all is working well, now. Not sure what happened. Magic, I guess.
Thank you Nairolf. I have been updating the newspaper theme using Envato Tool kit for over a year now. I updated the theme a month or so ago and waited until this morning to update visual composer since the plugin needed to be updated. from the plugin folder I updated it using the zip file.
I am a novice and am a bit uncomfortable reinstalling the entire theme. Will all my settings remain? Will I have to start over and reconfigure everything?
I’d prefer it if someone knows how to fix my specific problem with Visual Composer.
I have tested all of my plugins and all seems to be fine.
Thanks again for your help
Never mind. I found it. I actually didn’t need to upload it, just delete the plugin from the main plugin page and then under newspaper plugins, I reloaded the plug in. Seems to be working fine, now.
thanks
Thanks for the guide. Where’s file to upload?
Ray
I went ahead and disabled visual composer in the theme and downloaded visual composer as a normal plugin. My home page is loading for both desktop and mobile but I’m getting some unwanted text below the menu: [vc_row][vc_column]
Ray
I had been assuming that the plugins for the theme would automatically updated. How do I update the embedded theme plugin? It does not show on my plugins page.
Thanks
okay, thanks. What do you recommend? Which ones work with your theme?
Never mind. It’s working now. Just needed some time.
thank you for your help.
Can you also tell me how to make my logo on the home page, larger? There’s lots of space (it seems like).

I’d also like to add my newsletter subscription form to the right of my logo. Can you tell me how to do that, as well?
Thanks,
Ray
Hello,
Could you also direct me to the download for the update? Been looking for a while.
Thanks
Thanks for the info. I’ve see that, already.
Is there a fix in the works to allow me to update the newspaper theme using the envato toolkit? I can wait for that if there is one coming.
Regarding the wordpress theme update, if I switch themes, delete the newspaper theme then upload the updated version, will I lose all of my settings for the site and have to start over with everything I’ve done? I get that I won’t lose my postings (2000 or so).
Ray
