Thanks for clearing this up Anamaria. This seems to do the job, but since it is still complicated and costs a lot of time, we decided to keep the simple dropdown menu instead. We hoped for ‘an easy fix’ 😉

Enjoy your weekend!

Hi,

Somehow did didn’t work for us. It seems very complicated. Since the megamenu was in the preview of the header template we asumed it would work with a simple selction. We decided to use a regular dropdown menu now.

Thanks for the swift reply Alex. That was the answer and solution I was looking for. Although I only cleared WordPress cache and my own browser cache. Anyway, it works like it should again, so thanks for taking the time to help me out here Alex.

After the update Alex talked about, everything was fine for a moment at our site too. But no 2 weeks later, subheadings (H2-H6) are displaying only in paragraph size again in the backend (wp block editor), while the title is displaying the right size for H1 tag. Can not figure out if this is a WordPress thing or not. Installed latest update of Newspaper yesterday, but that didn’t change this odd behavior of block editor. Any hint where to look, or do I just need to wait for WP to fix this? I already Googled on it (for hours) but nothing comes up on this issue.

A hint is much appreciated!

Have you checked if all the required plugins of the theme are activated again? SOmetimes this does not happen automaticly. Go to the Newspaper dashboard and select the plugins sections. Check if all required plugins are activated again, else do so manualy. If you use the tagdiv Standard Pack, make sure it’s also activated.

Hi there,

We seem to have a issues with the display of title and subheading sizes in gutenberg editor. The font sizes show the same as paragraph size. If I change to a twenty-one or twenty-two theme of wordpress the gutenberg editor displays title and subheadings in the right sizes. So this seems a Newspaper issue we encountered a few days ago.

More specific, we want to limit the higth of the Single Post Featured Image Since the choices in the dropdown menu can’t do this, we are looking for a custom css to set the imagehight to a max.

Thanks Bettina for your reply. The workarround does not work with the tempalte, because it resizes the Single Post Featured Image automaticly. Besides that, we have about 20.000 news articles online right now, all with a featured image, so that would be a challenge.

Is it possible to set the element Page Title as an inline element(?) on top off the Single Post Featured Image (we then can set the font colour to white). That would solve part of the issue, because now we have to put the page title of a single post above or below the featured image, wich is valuable space on a screen as you can inmagin.

The resize would be nice if that could be done in template custom css ofcourse. Any hint for both issues would be appreciated Bettina.

Hi Anamaria,

Thanks for the quick response. Since caption is not possible for singele featured bg image, how to get the ‘normal’ Single featured image in that size? The dropdown menu on your screenshot is way bigger then we have (https://imgur.com/a/7SiVkRs), and if we use dropdown, all it does is zoom in on a picture, but the picture (or boxsize?) stays the same. We want a size of 600 width and 50 px high (like the bg image). Any idea how to do that without the dropdown?

Hi Betty,

We use the Gossip Pro cloud template, but it’s header https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper_gossip_pro/header-tamplate-gossip-pro/

is very different from the https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper_gossip/

Difference is first is Gossip Pro and second is Gossip. Do you mean Gossip is not a cloud template, but Gossip Pro is? It seems a bit confusing to us.

Any insights appreciated Betty! Thanks

Hi Bettina,

Thanks for your reply. I had done as you discribed, but mobile view was not showing and not selectable in the manager. BUT… aperently you scared the apechips out of my WP, because after reading your answer all was working fine at once 😉

So I followed your lead as described and it works fine now. Thanks a lot Bettina!

Forgot to mention that in backend of WP at ‘Pages’ I can see below a page ‘Edit with TD Composer’. Also when in backend WP viewing a Page I see the Edit with TD Composer button. But when I just click on the pagetitle to edit, and get just the code in Gutenberg, there used to be a button for Tagdiv Composer. That one is missing.

Hi Calin,

Thanks for the explanation. One more question about ads though: If I want to put Adsense ads like in-article ads on my site, where do I place the Adsense code for that? I doesn’t seem to stick in Themepanel – Ads section.

Thanks.

Hi Bogdan,

Thanks for your help. The link to my site is http://www.regioonline.nl You can find the menu item with the dropdown list in the mainmenu. It is called ‘Kies uw regio’. If you could make a css code to make it scrollable I would be very thankfull. Please provide some info with it where to implement your code.

Thanks in advance for all your efforts Bogdan.

Hi Bogdan, thanks for your answer. I did read the mentioned docs, but they do not solve my problem. I need a sidebar next to the big grid area, not in a split row beneith it. It’s white space, wich I can not do anything with. Not in standard Customiser or the tagDiv Composer. It is not accessable. The goal of my sidebar is to present a menu of pages, for easy navigation, but there are 53 pages, so it is a long sidebar. I could put it in a dropdown list in the home menu, but then not all pages are accessable because scrolling down the list will not work. At the end of the screen the dropdown will not continue while scrolling, but will disappear when reaching the bottom of the screen.

Maybe you have a suggestion for another aproach?

Thanks in advance Bogdan.
