The WP RSS Aggregator plugin did end up working for me. It looks like they also now have a bundle available so you don’t have to purchase the plugins separately.
After working with RSS Aggregator for the past month. I am still unable to get the RSS Aggregator plugin to work. Paid about $200 for all the add-ons and it’s still not working. We really do need to be able to add a newsfeed to a newspaper theme. Hope Tagdiv adds this capability soon.
The WP RSS Aggregrator plugin does seem to be working with the Newspaper theme. The plugin is free, but you have to purchase two add-ons; one for images and one for the widget.
Thank you.

I tried disabling all active plugins but the video thumbnail is not showing up.
I am sorry if I am not conveying the question correctly. Perhaps these images will help.
The categories are clickable links that pull up content. How do I set the blocks so that the appropriate content appears when the user clicks on it..so they get what they expect?
I have used a video URL according to this documentation, I have used a valid URL and an appropriate post type. I also just updated my theme. Posts still show up with a blank thumbnail.
I do understand that I can not filter individual categories. I also understand the instructions in the link you provided. I am very familiar with this theme (and love it!).
The website is not published yet, but here are the images of the section I am trying to format. It is the “Section ID” (the first image in the link below) that I am trying to change. I would like to change the category of these posts so that when people click on them, they go to the appropriate category.
It happens on various blocks. For example, when I add Block 20 to the homepage using Visual Composer, I specify that section to filter using the category “Lifestyle”. However, other categories (not subcategories, but random categories) appear under that section.
So, the filter should be Lifestyle, but world news articles are appearing.
I have all icons set properly. I disabled all plugins, cleared cache, checked with my hosting company for possible issues. I installed and activated this recommended plugin to regenerate thumbnails. Still not working.
I just disabled all plugins (except clear cache and visual composer) and the booklet image is still not showing up when I bookmark my website to my iPhone home screen. I used this feature on a previous version of Newspaper and it worked fine. Not sure what is different this time.
I am having the same issue. Would love to know if there is something we can do about it.
Thank you so much for your help. The ad is appearing correctly.
I figured out the problem on this.
I figured out what the problem was on this issue.
Thank you for this code, but I have no idea how to implement this. Is this through the FTP server or directly in my WP account? If it’s in WP, I think I go to Appearance>editor>Newspaper>Theme Functions but then I don’t know where to go after that to place this code that you have been so kind to give me.
Thank you for you help.
I just visited the Visual Composer plugin’s support to see if they can help me, but it seems I need a purchase code before I can get support from them.
I also have been in contact with support at The Events Calendar, but they are at a loss as to how to solve this problem.
Yes, those screenshots represent the area I am working on. I can see, based on your screenshots, that the Visual Composer has not changed their options. So I don’t know what changed. I just know that prior to the latest update (which is AWESOME!), the most current events displayed first. I’m guessing that a lot of people who use the Newspaper theme have also been using The Events Calendar plugin, so if we can figure this out, it will probably be helpful to many of us. I am also requesting help in the forums of The Events Calendar.
Thank you for your help.
I just downloaded the WP only files for Newspaper from Envato and installed it on my website. Then I reverted back to the child theme. I hope that was how I was supposed to do it.
Unfortunately, it did not solve the problem of the posts showing up in the wrong order.
Maybe it’s not classified as a footer. From the bottom footer, that has the copyright info, then the next one is the one with the logo, About us and social icons. The third section from the bottom is the one I am looking for, that currently has Editor Picks, Popular Posts and Popular Categories. I don’t see where I can alter the settings for that section.
I don’t want to remove it. It looks great! I just want to change the settings for the titles and categories. I can’t find the section in the widgets. When I open the footer widgets under Appearance>Widgets, the footer widgets are empty.
That fixed it. I had a feeling it was something I did myself. Thanks so much for your help.

This was enormously helpful! Thank you so much! I had attempted to set this up using tags on the home page layout but was apparently missing something. These step by step, screen-shot explanations covered whatever it was I was missing.

Ok.Thank you. Do you know of any event listing plugins that will work with this theme?
That works. Thank you so much.
