Hi Catalin… problem resolved thanks to guidance from Simion.

Basically theme system status was showing that home url and site url did not match, so had to correct under wp dashboard setting > general. Basically the home url was showing as http:// and the site url was showing as https://

I amended the home url to https:// and TD composer page elements displayed on edit section.

This might be useful for others to know who maybe having a similar issue, to check theme system status under Newspaper.

I am having same issue right now… I have seen a few more people post with exact same issue. All guidance from TD has proved futile.

Even deactivated all plugins except ones bundled with theme, but made not difference.

Do you know if there are plans in future updates to include the use of iframe embed code in featured video?

Not only do you not allow LOCAL video use in the featured video section, iframe embed code, does not work at all? I have addressed this in another thread by Akaii… https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/video-format-embed-instead-of-link/

NO disrespect to @Vlad1984 but that is not a good solution, just a load of wasted time doing something that shouldn’t have to be done, especially if you are making multiple posts a day and also have guest contributors. I do not have that time to waste!

You say you can use iframe embed code, and I am saying you can’t, not in the featured video section.

Here is the reply I left on another thread which explains and shows that using iframe embed code in the featured video field, using a video theme template, just doesn’t work.

Using the embed iframe code does not work on any videos I try and use, believe me I have tried many times as most of my posts are either youtube or vimeo videos.

I was looking for answers to the same issue you are experiencing and was given this thread in the search results. Trying to find an answer to this just as you are pal.

I do not see the point in opening another thread on the same issue.. where is the sense in that as the solution is going to be the same. It’s called being efficient and preventing the support guys from answering the same questions multiple times on multiple threads.

I though that was the whole purpose of this being an open chat forum.

JEEZ THIS IS INSANE..!!!

I have to say that this is just lot of faffing around for something which should be a really simple process.

I am having the same kind of issue trying to get an answer with wanting to use embed iframe code for placing youtube video in featured video on Newspaper video templates, instead of the plain video link url, because I don’t want to display the video title and suggested videos at the end of the video.

For such a great theme, you would have though that not only would Tagdiv have included the option to place the raw video link url in the featured video section, but also the option to place ’embed code’ for youtube, fb,vimeo etc… or LOCAL video link.

Pardon my langauge, as I am about to use some bad ones….. 🙂

But how fucking hard can that be…seriously??!! It is very frustrating as I have been also trying to get an answer to this for 4 days now and I no closer to finding an answer than I was 4 fuking days ago….

The fact that there does not appear to be a solid solution, just a load of fucking around with people suggesting plugins (that don’t work) or changing something through http://ftp.. or doing some other shit, for me… totally devalues the newspaper tagdiv theme, to a point I am seriously thinking of ditching it all together, asking for a refund and switching to another theme that supports using embed video code.

TAGDIV….Your providing and selling the theme with video functionality and include video templates within the theme, so why not include the functionality to embed video code..??!! IT’S A FUCKING NO BRAINER TO ME…

Sure thing Chris.. i have tried this before using sFTPclient on the chrome web store and could not get it to work, techie stuff is just not my bag.

If there was any way to do it without having to result to using ftp, that would be great.

I would love to know how you are getting iframe to work as I have tried adding iframe code from youtube videos and vimeo into the featured video section on post edit.

I also tried the manual activation which also didn’t work and triggered the same error message as before.

I have given access to my wp-admin area to Alin (email support contact@tagdiv.com) who is going to take a look and see what the problem could be.

Thanks for that, but I added an extension to chrome called safervpn.com but that made no difference, I still got the pop-up window when I tried to activate theme with purchase code saying…
