Regarding the mobile theme. Currently (without the mobile theme plugin installed), my website is completely responsive and has the updated design. What does the mobile theme plugin add?

Thanks for your reply. I am having a problem with the mega menu on my website studenthub.org.uk . When I hover over the mega menu “science”, the “All” mega menu tab previews load up fine, but when i hover over another tab below, e.g. biology, I am presented with a loading icon, and the posts of that category don’t load. How do i fix this

UPDATE: I literally got wp-rocket around 10 minutes ago, and I’ve just realised a massive change.

Thanks for all the great information! Would you be able to look at my website, studenthub.org.uk , and give me any advice on how to make it faster. It seems that overnight the page load speed increased to a ridiculous time(30s), although it did load quite slow before then too.

I installed wp-rocket, and I am stuggling to think of other ways to speed it up.

Another quick question on the same topic: I don’t seem to have the featured category on my website. If I create it manually, will that also work? Also, is there anyway to set permissions for someone to apply that specific category, so only editors can designate featured posts?

Solved. For future reference for anyone else with this problem, i forgot to disable the menu icon plugin, which removed the megamenu option.

Ok, so I guess it was a plugin that caused this issue.

Another couple of quick questions:

1) I used the themeforest auto update feature, as shown in one of your posts here: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-automatically-update-newspaper-theme/. Does that automatically update the included plugins that came with the theme?

2) The speedbooster plugin shows incompatibilities with several popular plugins, such as akismet, AMR shortcodes etc. Obviously spam prevention, shortcodes and website performance are both very important. Whilst it is unlikely (as incompatible does mean incompatible), will there be any possibility of this plugin being more compatible in the future?

3) On my website (www.studenthub.org.uk), the featured images do not fill up the tiled spaces, leaving blank grey spaces. Is there anyway to remove them, so the featured images scale to fit the gaps?

Also, a different question: I had some memory of there being a post submission feature which is included with the newspaper theme. Does anybody know where I can find this feature (which allows users to submit their own posts), and enable it on my website?
