The article says:

Most CMS’s, including WordPress, add the H1 tag automatically to the title of a blog post. But sometimes a theme can alter this setting.

I.e. it is not the case for all themes.

The article also suggests checking out the source code of a post to look for <h1> tags, and if I do not insert any H1-header myself, no <H1> tags appear. I assume this means, that the page title is not considered a H1-header, or it would have been surrounded by the <h1> and </h1> tags.

Feel free to correct me if I’m wrong 🙂

Thus, I still need to find out how to remove the page title. Is that not possible in the Newspaper theme?

Hi Epic

Thanks for your response.

After I wrote the question, I tried going to the theme panel to change the H1 font, to see if the font of the post title would change as well. If it would, I assume it would mean, that the theme considers it to be a H1-header. However, changing the H1 font did not change the font of the post title, so I assume the theme does not consider the post title to be a H1-header.

Are you sure Google does not consider them as two separate entities as well?

Best Regards,
Søren
