Hi,
We tried everything, we have high-end hosting as well with lot of RAM and dedicated CPU.

We disabled all plugins and then enabled it one by one. the problem is with AMP being enabled in Theme panel with Yoast turned on.

Some severe compatibility issues. We faced this in the past too, but after the latest newspapwer theme update. It is just painfully slow and server times out.

Anyone else facing this problem?

Thanks, please check mail.

@Themisic yes totally agree. Tagdiv always give a simple ans that please diable mobile theme if you want a function to work, which is not the solution. If there is something faster make it/fix it so that it becomes better and the users are not penalised.

Everyone has to work according to Google, that is why one installs a theme so that it will be future ready. But they try to do their best, even if a bit slow.

Have not found a solution to lazy load in mobile theme till now.

@pulsatemedia
lot of issues, with the new Google algo update, which TagDiv theme is not ready for, one is this lazy load. Next WebP, luckily that solves with an additonal plugin. Then there is speed issue which this theme is at the low end of. Also resource issue. The list we have encountered is quite big. Am sure, in the next update they will cover all these.

@Themesic
I have tried putting in other lazy load like A3 plugin, but nothing works, tagdiv mobile code seems to be not lazy load ready/friendly. Google’s new algo update is also working adversely for newspaper theme, not SEO friendly since march 2019. maybe next update from them fixes these two issues.

spu
tagDiv Member

Yes @themesic you are correct if a website does not have lazy load google will penalise that website.

Hi, A bit harsh.
This is probably the first time we got to know (maybe missed it prev), didn’t know the forums were paid for only.
Please share the link from where we can extend support.
Thanks

Thanks, Simion we will keep using this plugin, however we do see an impact on our search results because of this. Hopefully the next update of AMP fixes the issue.

Hi Catalin,
1)Please see this: https://prnt.sc/nme2c5
Reference URL: https://www.gadgetbridge.com/news/paytm-mall-is-offering-a-cashback-of-up-to-rs-12000-on-iphone-xs-iphone-xr-and-others/
(in both normal and incognito mode)
2) We used to use Jetpack plugin a long time ago. we removed it a year ago and are not using it since then. Also, cache was cleared. What do you recommend to fix this as others too are getting undefined URL in the tab.
3) If we do next post, then if a person is on the very next post then nothing will. There has to be an option, if one is on the first post then the autoload will load the previous post. Or if the person is on an old post, he/she will see the latest post after that.
4) Hope we can get autoload feature in the mobile theme, as that is the theme that one uses since it is faster than a responsive theme.
5) Thanks will check this.

Hi Simion,
It’s ok, am sure you guys have a lot of support requests.

Yesterday I checked and http://prntscr.com/njvpjz this option was set to mobile. I changed it to the mobile + amp. Now I have changed it just amp.

It is still not working 🙁

What else can we do.

Update: We also thought that maybe WP-rocket is the issue, however we disabled that and checked, the AMP is still not working on any page.

Update 2: We removed the amp plugin that Tagdiv recommends. Installed AMP for WP – Accelerated Mobile Pages. Set it up.
And amp has started to work.
https://www.gadgetbridge.com/news/oneplus-7-pro-press-renders-leaked-shows-full-display-and-triple-rear-camera-setup/?amp
https://www.gadgetbridge.com/news/google-pixel-3a-xl-spotted-at-best-buy-days-ahead-of-launch/?amp

Strangely the AMP plugin tagdiv recommends is the problem.

Thanks as always, The amp related errors are somewhat sorted and are being validated in Webmaster tools, we will know after the submission is complete and dealt with, will let you know.

The script we loaded was accidentally put from the normal auto ads and not amp auto ads. We did that this morning and it subsided the script error. That is on us, apologies.

a)The hamburger icon on the home page of mobile is not working, strangely on article pages on mobile it is working.
4) Thanks, appreciate it.
6) ok, sure will mail.
7) once you do please let us know.

Calin,
Am getting this error too on the plugins page –
Warning: The following plugins may be incompatible with AMP: td-composer, wordpress-seo-premium, td-cloud-library, WorDroid-Plugin-master, onesignal-free-web-push-notifications, contact-form-7, akismet More details
https://prnt.sc/mxp7my

Should we be worried?

spu
tagDiv Member

Thanks calin, but it is a bit confusing.
The theme panel says we can use auto ads, and am pretty sure I read in one of the tutorials that we can now use auto GA ads in amp in theme panel. Which is why we added the GA auto ad code to our AMP theme panel.

“ADSENSE AUTO ADS FOR AMP
This ad appears below the menu.”

Ok, found the problem, we had put in normal auto ad code in this menu.
In google adsense it is saying to paste two scripts, however the box in newspaper theme panel asks for just one script.
This what the Adsense account says for AMP auto ads:
Step 2: Copy and paste this script in the head tag of your AMP HTML
Step 3: Copy and paste this ad code in the body of your AMP HTML

SO in the newspaper amp auto ad box, should we just paste the code from step 3 of adsense?

Regards

Hi Catalin, Thanks for taking out time.
1) Any other good plugin you guys have tested? Like Wp-rocket? Since WP super cache is outdated and is not recommended by many.
2) Please check the screenshot, in the first two days we have over 1,200 amp problems reported.
https://prnt.sc/mx7gj3
Because of this none of the articles are being served as amp pages on google –
https://prnt.sc/mx7lwd
Getting same error for all articles when testing its amp compatibility.
2B) getting this amp error in over 300 pages
https://prnt.sc/mx7ri3
3)Yes the mobile theme is enabled, but still there is no hamburger menu, now because of amp errors we are not able to see amp pages, otherwise would have sent you a screenshot.
4) IMO it is the most important part of the mobile theme, please bring it in the next update 🙂
6) Our website is http://www.gagdetbtidge.com
7) Let me elaborate on this one. Like we see how many users/unique users come from mobile or desktop in GA. Is there a way to see how many come from mobile AMP, since that is now showing in our GA.

Regards

Hi Calin,
This has already been done – Cache has been cleared too.
Please make sure that you activate the amp from mobile theme -> https://www.screencast.com/t/6m5bxthx8ec and you check the box from general Amp -> https://www.screencast.com/t/WEyXhNzY

Still we are getting constant amp problem errors. Please see the below and also from webmaster tools.

https://prnt.sc/mx78ku
https://prnt.sc/mx790e

An AMP component ‘script’ tag is present, but unused.
First detected: 3/11/19

Thanks Please help.

Followed your steps and this has been rectified. How to rectify rest of the issues.
There is content which fails AMP validation. However, your site is configured to automatically accept sanitization of the offending markup. You should review the issues to confirm whether or not sanitization should be accepted or rejected. Review issues

webmaster tools is also now throwing AMP problems.
An AMP component ‘script’ tag is present, but unused.
The tag ‘meta name=viewport’ appears more than once in the document.
The tag ‘meta charset=utf-8’ appears more than once in the document.

Ok, so it is a problem with the current mobile theme and the PSN plugin, the stylesheet is not loading in the articles only on mobile (front page is loading fine), desktop is fine. Can you check and maybe tell me a solution?
