Thank you, no problem at all. I just wanted to clarify how the mobile theme worked, and that it was a very different experience for end users than the standard theme. I have tested it and it is quite a bit faster, so there is still the possibility of using it without the navigation and categories that I use now, and with a different navigation menu, but there’s always the possibility that a user will get sent to one of the pages that exist and see a blank screen.
I understand that the mobile theme is supposed to be fast, but my entire site has a menu structure and navigation. I use pages for the main categories, and have crafted each of those pages to show specific content in particular ways.
How can I do this with the mobile theme? From what I can tell, it only displays the latest on the home page, and on other pages it is blank. I can’t use “Featured” because there are multiple choices.
Can I use short links or codes in the mobile theme box on particular pages to have them show a grid of articles from a particular category?
Or is the only option to use a new menu system just for mobile and point at category listings somehow that way? Or eliminate the menus altogether?
Just did that myself and it worked. I guess when I went through the nonsense of downloading, installing, and authenticating the Envato Market installer, which is one of the ways TagDiv suggest you update a plugin, I expected it to take care of all of the related plugins.
Is there a specific document that clearly states all of the things you need to do when upgrading? All plugins that need to be disabled, removed, uninstalled, and re-installed? I’m already doing the Visual Composer dance every time, but if I need to be doing that for a bunch of other plugins it would be nice to know…
You keep pointing to the page https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-mobile-theme/ which has absolutely no documentation on the fact that you have to re-create each of your static pages by hand using a completely different method.
Perhaps you should add documentation or notes to that page indicating this is a completely separate theme, that no existing pages will work with the mobile theme unless you re-create them or create new content by hand.
I for one will be disabling and uninstalling the mobile theme until documentation is provided on how to do this, as I have no idea what will/won’t work.
I love how fast it is, but right now every single one of my menu items and pages are completely blank without documentation…..
