great theme.

I use newspaper 7 with a child theme. I tried updating to the latest theme and site would not load up. I restored it to an older version.
Issues : I can not see the elements grid from Visual Composer on first page. I tried to add more elements with visual composer ( ad 4) and nothing changes. I can not update the visual composer as it does not come with the theme anymore?

What do you suggest I do to make it functional and be able to add elements visually? which visual editor should i use? also the php needs to be updated it seems like and not sure how to do it.

would you please take a look on the back end and feel free to try some of the changes before you recommend them to me. Can I send you the credentials in a separate email like I have in the past? can you provide a good email or reply to theoricci2@gmail.com

1. If I disable the featured image, it seems like it disables all featured images in all posts. I would like to only disable the generic (an image I chose for all posts with no good images) featured image that I set up for thumbnails because I do not have a good picture for some particular articles. Here is a post with a generic image http://198.1.95.93/~devgandaculdecol/reportaj-din-nordul-tarii/ I would like this image to appear in the thumbnail but not in the full length article.

2. Also- how do I empty all caches ? In the browser or in the wp dashboard? if so how to exaclty- cant seem to find the option in the theme…

I see. Well I now see the list of authors in the post but I need to create new author profiles. I went to Member Directory and added new members as editors or contributors.These do not appear in the post Authors drop down menu. Also – i dont find a user section on the left side of the wp panel. any sugesstions? thx again!

Thanks so much again- you guys are incredibly helpful and talented! My other issues were:

1. For the articles that do not have a proper image but do have a default image generated in the thumbnail ( the grey camera), is there a way I could keep the default image in the thumbnail but NOT in the full length article as in here http://198.1.95.93/~devgandaculdecol/emil-boc-urmasul-popular-al-lui-basescu/

2. How can i limit the number of words for the articles displayed in thumbnails? Some thumbnail Articles titles are 2 lines while others are one line. The thumbnail titles with too many words are offsetting the other thumbnail articles with less words ( one line only) here is one example http://198.1.95.93/~devgandaculdecol/author/dmclici/

3. When I am logged in as a webmaster/ Redactie, the articles appear to be publised by Redactie. How can I make sure that when I login and publish another author’s article, the article will be displayed with the right author name?

The thumbnails appear to be working generally well. However, when clicking on the articles, the pictures that were small to begin with are now awfully pixelized and fairly large.

1.These pictures do not need to be that large, can they preserve a smaller value so that they will not appear pixelized in the full length articles?
2. I deactivated the thumbnail regeneration plugins you suggested and that does not seem to change anything. The image size in the full length articles seems to be a function of the theme. Is there a way I can set these images at a smaller size when the images appear pixelized? here is one of the many exampples http://198.1.95.93/~devgandaculdecol/triplu-eveniment-editorial-la-iasi/

Will the paid plugin work with existing posts though? I already have a few thousands up already..
Will the paid plugin change the orientation of the pictures? I have a lot of vertical pictures and the theme uses landscape oriented pictures and I would like to keep everything uniform.
What is the best way to generate thumbnails for posts with non-existent pictures?
