No, the plugin Wordfence isn’t installed.
As mentioned before I’m able to save all theme settings. The weird thing is that the message appears ONLY when I click on the tab ‘IMPORT/EXPORT’ of the theme panel. And can’t get into the import/export window of the theme panel. Even when I have saved settings before, this message comes up when I click on (only) the tab IMPORT/EXPORT. The rest of the tabs of the theme panel are accessible and working fine (and changes are even saved).
Is it possible that a plugin is blocking only that part of the theme?

Hi Catalin,

I checked the wp-config.php file.
Memory was set to 128M
And the DEBUG was already set to ‘false’

Still everytime I click from the Newspaper theme panel on ‘IMPORT/EXPORT’ I get the message: “You are about to leave the Theme Panel area, if you’ve made any changes hit Cancel and Save Settings”
If I click ‘Cancel’ nothing happens, but if I click ‘OK’ the browserwindow starts loading and keeps loading (so it freezes I guess) and have to close the window.

I always get this message, even if I do have clicked on ‘Save Settings’ before / saved all settings within the theme panel.
So it is not possible to get into the ‘IMPORT/EXPERT’ tab.

I did made a lot of languages changes in the theme. But that part is still accessible and works fine.
