Why doesn’t that work? Isn’t there another way?
Hi,
It seems that this is still an issue? When are you expecting a fix?
The thing is, I will have dozens of categories so I would have to make different templates for all of them using text. Would that slow things down in any way? It will be a problem when I want to change one thing though, then I have to edit all the templates.
What if I use the widgetised sidebar to add the text on the page. It won’t be a sidebar but full width content. Will that work and does it affect the speed?
Is any of these two option better then the other in your view?
Another question about this. I want the site to be full width. How do I achieve this without the Cloud Library? Because I want to add an additional text field in the category page template, but you said I shouldn’t edit the Cloud Library templates. I want to stetch the rows and have 1400 px content.
Ok, good to know.
I`ll ask if it is possible to have the functionality as a widget, because then I could add it to any page/post using the widgetised sidebar right?
Ok, thanks. So I make my template through the Cloud Library and when I’m done I can take the template, have it edited by someone and put it in the cild theme folder?
I imagine that if I want to edit the template later I have to take out the custom code temporarily and put it back after editing. You think that will work?
Hi Calin,
Thanks for your reply.
So if the code is set in functions it is possible to call a function using tagdiv composer that checks the subcategory and calls the right shortcode?
I’m not sure if I can do it using tagDiv Composer alone. Every subcategory will need a different shortcode behind the button. So I imagine if I use tagDiv Composer I would need to build a different template for each subcategory? I have a lot of them, so later if I want to change something small I have to change all the different templates. Or is there another way that’s better?
Yes, like that. But I’m redesigning all my pages anyway and converting to tagdiv composer, so I will do just that. It might have something to do with me still using the classic composer.
Anyway, I didn’t know you can choose per page if you want to use the mobile theme. So that’s something I learned from this. Thanks!
Hi Vlad,
Thank you for your quick reply, but I don’t think you understand me correctly. Also your last screenshot is not the correct one I think.
I have used the mobile theme for years and haven’t changed these pages. With spacing I mean all the line breaks etc. (I’m not sure if I use the right words) But instead of the text being on the next line it is all on the same line.
This is how I see the page on mobile: https://www.screencast.com/t/uWjEeBhlyjX
It’s all one paragraph, but there used to be blank lines in between, so different paragraphs.
Also a random other page: https://bit.ly/2Oxuw71 On this page the problem is smaller, but you can see that there is no space between the paragraph and the text. Before there was.
That’s gooed news. I’ll wait for the update. Thanks!
Hi Calin,
Thanks, but is saying that it only works when you deativate tagdiv composer isn’t that a bit strange, because I thought that after the updates VC only works if you have tagdiv composer activated?
Thanks for the tips with the CSS.
Thanks! Will also check the article out.
Hi Calin,
I will definitely walk through it. But isn’t it strange it was working fine before and the desktop site is at 70 while the mobile site at 22?
Hi Calin,
Thanks for your reply, but I want to use ‘hide on device’ option in Visual Composer. It’s weird that it doesn’t work. Will it be fixed in a update?
I can try it with CSS, but its not ideal. What would the css be if I make two classes. One that shows the row/element on desktop and tablet landscape, and one for everything below that resolution, like the options in VC?
Never mind, got it!
I doesn’t have to be in mobile only, because I also have these text links in footer area in desktop view. But because this doesn’t show in the mobile theme I need a different solution. So is there another way to this or is the solution you said then still the best one?
Ok, thanks again!
That worked, thanks!
I have two more questions about the mobile website.
1. Is it possible to turn off the zoom function when on a mobile phone?
2. Sometimes the page doesn’t load properly and I only see text. I had this with another phone too. See http://www.screencast.com/t/CboiFM4y. Any idea how this could be?
Ah that’s a shame. Are you planning on adding a analityics/js code area to the mobile theme because you say for the moment?
But wouldn’t that code be overwritten on a them update? Or can I also use the child theme for this?
Great, thanks!
Hi Calin. Sorry I have to ask you again. Before I didn’t have an actual link set yet behind the button. Now when I set it the button isn’t 100% anymore. If I delete the link for the button it’s back to 100%. Any idea why?
You’re right. I read over that bit in your reply, sorry. Got it now, thanks!
Hi Calin, Thanks for your reply.
I have added the custo code, but it doesn’t work. Also isn’t a code like this for all buttons? Can I use a custom class for the element so it only applies to buttons with this custom class?
Hi Calin,
This website is made with Visual Composer.
