Hi everybody,
i have two problems (at the moment):
1.)My thumbnails don´t fit into the boxes. I read here a lot and I tried the “Thumbnail Regenerate plugin” in combination with the deactivated plugins (excepted the Visual Composer) – without success.
2.)Can you recommend a plugin (for newspaper) to show the credits + link of the images under or in the images

Hi,
These are the thumb dimensions used on the modules – https://forum.tagdiv.com/theme-thumbs/ As you can see there some modules have a 16:9 aspect ratio, while others have one closer to 4:3 you just have to experiment with different aspect ratios and see what works best for you. Also this is the way the featured images are cropped – https://forum.tagdiv.com/featured-image/
If you have tried to regenerate thumbnails and cleared the cache after the process, with no results please provide a link to your website so we can inspect it.
We have not tested any plugin with that functionality so I can not make any recommendations, you will have to search for some plugins and use the one you like.
Thanks
Hi Simion,
I already tried a lot of the solutions which were suggested in the forum. Would be great if you could check the page: http://www.europapokal.de
Thanks a lot
Timo
Hi,
If none of the solutions you tried works and you ruled out a plugin being the possible cause for this, please check if gd library is enabled on the server as it is required for the image processing, so contact you hosting provider and ask them about this. If that is the case and a solution is provided in that regard, then try and use the regenerate thumbnails tool and also clear your cache.
Thanks
Hi,
two more Questions:
1.)Search Bar Results: If you check the search bar in the main menue http://www.europapokal.de the thumbnails of the results are not correct.
2.)The Post Style from the Panel with the big image (Style 8) looks great for desktop and there are no performance problems (no or minimal differences to other styles) with the sidespeed. On mobile it looks different. If I compare the style 8 with the sitespeed performance of default or style 2 the performance of style 2 is much more better. My now question: Is there a option to have different post style settings for desktop vs mobile?
Thanks a lot
Timo
Hi,
1. Please check to see if you have the default thumb size set in wordpress – https://www.screencast.com/t/uosBOW2xYg and make the changes if not. Also clear your cache after the modification.
2. If you are using the mobile theme, this plugin was designed with speed and performance in mind, so it comes with predefined templates for the homepage, posts and categories. So you will have the mobile theme post template regardless of the post template used for the post. More information here – https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-mobile-theme/ If you do not use the mobile theme, the theme has full responsive design so it always looks good on all devices.
Post template style 8 – https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/td-post-2015-awards-all-of-the-best-and-worst-moments-from-the-show/ could be a bit slower in loading since it features a background image.
Thanks
Hi,
1.) Yes I already had the default thumb size set in wordpress (400:300)
This is the problem when I use the search bar –> http://www.europapokal.de/?s=Arsenal
Thank you
Hello timski82,
First of all, please disable all of the untested plugins, leave just Visual Composer to be active, clear all your caches, purge CDN files, install only the plugins that come bundled with the theme packet and rule out any conflicting plugins and check the results. Also, if the problem is still there, please try to make a new clean install from scratch via FTP way and install only the required plugins and check the results. Consult this guide here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-ftp/
Hope this helps and let us know how it goes!
Thanks.
