Please help me to complete my installation. becasue error show theme broken
style.css and childtheme
You need to install the theme zip file not the ‘all files’ zip.
Or, best course is to ALWAYS download to PC/Mac, unzip and look at what you have before uploading to server.

I have a hosting package with WordPress. I first wanted to install the newspaper 8.7_8.7.1 directly via WP. That didn’t work. I got a download window “update.php” which i downloaded on my computer. Nothing happend. I got an update for the newspaper tried this also and deactivated my plugin. No success.
Now I tried your way via FTP-Filezilla. But first I installed WP via FTP per Hand on my server. Then I brought the theme via Filezilla on the server. After that I opend WP and no themes are there only the installed versions of WP.
What do I wrong?

I did it via filezilla and it worked out.
Now I have to install the update. Should it be transferred in wp-content/themes or in the /wp-content/upgrade?

Updating the theme means you have to remove the old one and install the new version, please see this guide

Do it through FTP as well, that is the most recommended method. The latest theme version available for download is 8.7.2. Remember to update the theme plugins as well.
