As for font awesome, please note that the speedbooster plugin will not be able to move ALL of the css and js to the footer. It was only made to work with the plugins mentioned. If you remove the code, it will work with other plugins as well but it does not mean it will move all of the js and css. It only means it will move the js and css for the known plugins and will not deactivate when another plugin is found.

font awesome might be among the compatibility list but chances are you have a plugin that is not there. Speedbooster deactivates itself once a plugin that is not on the list is detected. Here is an example on my end with and without speedbooster:
