I have been using this theme more than 2 years but last couple of weeks When I try to add a new post or edit old one, sometimes I get an error, “The editor has encountered an unexpected error.” I click “attempt recovery” button but nothing happens. And also mostly I can not set “featured image”, click the featured image box but nothing happen now. normally I have to go to gallery..
What can I do to correct this?
Hi enginzey, please make sure that you are using the latest versions of theme (Newspaper v11) and WordPress (v5.7.2), if you have theme and the problem persist, then please make a test only with tagDiv plugin enabled. Most of the time this can be a plugin conflict. Also make sure that ALL theme requirements are set at like in our guide https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/

First of all thank you for your reply. Actually I am using Newspaper v7.5.
I download new theme zip from the themeforest.com, I think it is v11.
How can I update the theme? there is no option in the themes page in the wordpress.

Unfortunately upgrading from 7.5 to 11 will be a bit hard. A lot of changes have been made. What I personally recommend is to treat going to Newspaper Theme 11 as to a new theme. It is easier to consider it like this. Also what I recommend is to install the Newspaper Theme via FTP: https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-ftp/ Or to update via FTP: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/

I thought like you, it should not be easy to update v11. Actually I am happy with v7.5 my biggest problem is sometimes 50% (not always) I can not set “featured image”, click the featured image box but nothing happen now, normally I have to go to gallery.. If we can solve this problem everything fine for me..
Hi enginzey, the problem is that if you have one of the latest WordPress versions, then will be a lot of elements that will not work.
Also in some situations after theme or plugins updates you can have some new conflicts, for example some users reported a few years ago this problem and was related to jetpack plugin https://wordpress.org/support/topic/the-editor-has-encountered-an-unexpected-error-attempt-recovery-copy-post-text/ what you can do is to make a test using only the theme plugins and see if the problem persist.
Also update the theme is a solution, but I suggest to update the theme on staging or subdomain also after the theme is updated (as Vlad said, use the FTP/cPanel method), please make sure that you activate tagDiv Composer and tagDiv Standard Pack.

Hi,i got the same problem but, in my case, everything its updated. MY WEBSITE STATUS and sometimes, when try to add a new post the “the editor has encountered an unexpected error” appears.
