Image link to url

Hello,
inserting an image on a single post, when you click on it then it automatically enlarges the image.
How can I link an image to a url, so that when you click on the image that redirects you to the url? (of course I tried doing in edit-post mode, clicking on the image and then link it to a url, but that didn’t work…)
