How do I apply the global footer to the category template. (Is it global in the sense that it is applied to homepage, and page and post templates?) When I edit the category template there’s a message that I have to edit the footer template separately through the cloud templates. But there is no option to do so under category template, and as mentioned I already edited the “global” footer.
As far as the posts, I haven’t been able to find any “post” template. How do I apply the “global” footer and global header to those templates?
In the grand scheme, we are looking for an effective mobile strategy that allows use to edit – either through CSS or the TagDiv composer.
Thanks!
Ken
Hi,
You can apply global templates from here -> https://i.imgur.com/r3Hqlto.png -> https://i.imgur.com/KkmGNFN.png
All the templates are in cloud library -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-use-tagdiv-cloud-library-templates/ -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/cloud-library-templates/
Thank you!
What I can’t figure out is how to apply the global header or global footer template to a page template, post template, category template or homepage template – for tablet, mobile, and desktop. Its kind of a template attached to a template thing. If I’m thinking about it incorrectly, please help me understand. Essentially, I want to create category, page, and post templates with identical headers and footers (and for tablet, mobile, and desktop). Then I’d like to create a couple of custom page and post templates as well.
Hi,
Please provide some screenshots or a video with your steps.
A solution for sending a screenshot/video is this:
Download, capture, and send: https://www.techsmith.com/jing-tool.html
After making the screenshot, you will have a link; paste it here.
Thank you!
Here you go: https://www.screencast.com/t/RXYX5sFMi . Unfortunately, as I mention in the video, the responsive mobile header / footer in a browser does not generate the same header as the mobile view on a phone.
Let me know if I need to clarify anything further.
Thanks,
Ken
Hi Ken,
The video is without audio, the logo can be set on each viewport -> https://i.imgur.com/2ivLhDY.png
Do you use a mobile template for categories? For this you need to convert the existing header/footer like this => https://www.screencast.com/t/HrjOBNayd
Thank you!
Hi Anamaria,
Here you go. (With sound this time!

Hello Ken!
If you look on a mobile phone or if you refresh the mobile page, you can see that this is looking like this: https://prnt.sc/q861cuoF8e8d
Now, if you want to customize your pages, you should add a blank page. Unfortunately, you cannot assign the page template to the other page. They are individually, not as per the usual template. The header and the footer should be set as global. In the Cloud Templates, you have a large view of your templates. Also, you can save some rows or elements and easily add them to your page templates or any other templates. You should set the header and footer globally on every template manually.

I just noticed that, in the header menu, the “Resources” menu item does not work, and I cannot seem to fix it in Appearance –> Menus. It isn’t showing the pages defined in the menu.
Hi Bettina,
I understand, but I only want the menu sublink items to be clickable. The menu header itself does not have a corresponding page so it will not need a link. Mousing over it should just reveal the sub-menus. This brief video explains.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4A65fU23uFM.
Thanks, Ken
You’ll notice, in Appearance –> Menus, that there are sub menus that for some reason are not appearing..
The menu items that should be showing up under Resources are not working. If you look at Appearance –> Menus you will see that there should be child menu selections there.
Thank you, Bettina.
For some reason the old mobile header & menu are still showing up pages. Can the mobile horizontal menu be applied to pages as well? How do I create , edit, and apply those elements?
If I go to the website on a phone (not the responsive view on a desktop), then open a page ion the header (Glossary or About), you’ll see that a different header and menu appear.
Thanks, Ken
(I want to have consistency with the same header and menu across all posts, categories, and pages on a phone.)
Hello Ken!
I think your issue has been solved: https://prnt.sc/7xCirdq-hZpW
And I do not understand what you need to achieve exactly.
Thank you!
The issue is not solved. I am addressing the mobile view on the phone. You provided a screenshot of the desktop view. https://app.screencast.com/DPPpnMmc7yr0l
Hello,
So, I checked and seems you have a mobile template, and there you have set the right logo, but this page is not set. Now I set it, please check. You can copy the element from a page to other, or copy-paste the style -> https://i.imgur.com/ZUk30rT.png
Thank you!
That is the 3rd version of the mobile header I’ve seen. I describe here:
https://app.screencast.com/56yuAKaOfYYki
The menu called “Mobile” should be used on a standard mobile header.
Hi,
You need to edit your page and select the menu and set it or if you have mobile page/template edit and set the menu. I just arranged the logo, I didn’t change the menu
So, for the logo, you need to edit the page, I did only an example, but you need to do the rest of the changes to set the font size and more.
