Hi there, is there a way for me to remove the WP related posts and just keep the newspaper theme ones? 
I want it be the author box, followed by the Newspaper theme related posts and then an installed comments section. I’ve looked all through the WP dashboard and I can only find an option to include a heading or not or show images on their own related posts feature. Not actually disable them.

The order of sections at the bottom of my blog posts is not organised how I want and it seems you can’t do that. After you have read a post, you first hit ‘comments’ then the ‘share box’ then the ‘author box’ follow by ‘related articled’
I want it to first be the ‘share box’ then the ‘author box’ then the ‘related articles’ and lastly the comments’
Do you have any ideas how I could do this?

2) Please enable your post date and author (if you do not want to show them you can hide them with css, not disable from the theme panel).
3)This is tied to your first issue. Follow the topic provided and add the code to redirect it to your homepage for example.
4) I’m not sure exactly what you mean but I assume you mean h1 or h2 tags on your homepage. If you do not add any titles to your page inside a h1 or h2 tag there won;t be any. You are the one that needs to set these titles in a text box and add the title in a h1 or h2. tyou can hide it with css if you do not want to show it.

I’m having trouble while manually updating from 2.1 to the latest version of Newsmag.
I’m using ftp to do so, I renamed the “old” folder Newsmag to a different name and uploaded the latest version instead. I’m also using a Child theme and wp_super_cache (which I flushed as well)
So with the latest version I get the following errors on any page, even in the wp-admin panel:

If you want to move your author box to be under the post title, you have to change the code according to the single template used by you. For example, if you are using single template 1, you have to edit loop-single-1.php core file like this -> http://screencast.com/t/UF3fz2HCsx2 and then you have to use a bit of CSS code to do the image of the author to be circular.

I registered few Custom Post Types and they are also shown in the Theme Panel as registered post types. All fine.
I have a category attached to the posts also and created few posts.
I can activate features like Author Box from the Theme Panel but no RELATED ARTICLES are shown (ofcourse its active).
I also tried to click on a Category to see the archive, but NO POSTS are shown from the same category. So there is a problem in linking the posts.
BUT when I create a posts in the DEFAULT posts section of WordPress, and assign the same categories, suddenly the Related Articles are shown. But this is no use for me because I need the Custom Post Types. Ive registered them with Custom Post Type UI Plugin and by the way also tested your Custom Post Type Plugin (with Books), but also posts created in that custom post type are not linked together, so the Related articles feature also doesnt work there. Please assist here. Thanks.

I have one more query. I am trying to add a block 3 below the author box in post. I learned that this is possible with the visual composer and a shortcode. When i added the shortcode to the single.php file, the block 3 was added but it dislays 3 columns instead of 2 i.e 3 posts on 1 row instead of 2. How can i show 4 posts in 2 columns and 2 rows i.e each row should have 2 posts.
I checked this forum post where a user was facing a similar issue. https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/number-of-columns-in-a-block/. My blog posts already has a sidebar. Thus i cannot use a 2/3 + 1/3 layout

I’m trying to include a link to the author’s email in the Author Box instead of to author URL. Unfortunately, my php knowledge is rudimentary and I can’t figure out how to switch this from a call for and link to author URL (with clean up) to a link to author Email. I’ve tried a number of variations, but can’t get correct.

But quick overview…. FB has their own generated code you can implement, which can be responsive and this method basically replaces their old defunct WP plugin for FB comments.

You use the “configurator” to specify a website, and width such as “100%” for responsive divs.
Assuming your site is already setup for ‘apps’ in your FB developer/user account, you would on above page click the ‘get code’ and then it will ask you to assign to one of your sites (if more than one), and you have a block of code to use with a WP theme.
Block ONE, looks like this and would go after the body tag on POST template:

Only trick is when you do the form, then get code, it will say “item not public, make public on your app menu” then trick there is to put in email, namespace (sitename all lower case), domain for app. Then click to make public. Going back to the configurator doesn’t make a new app, you’re still making just the ONE app for your site you specify; you can’t make 2 accidentally!

Unfortunately this is not a simple task. We have no suggestions for this task. The authors link must be changed in order for the link to go to the author box.
This part: echo ‘user_nicename . ‘”>’ . $coauth->display_name . ‘‘; will have to be edited and an anchor tag added, but it will have to be adapted to the plugin’s way of getting the authors.
If you truly need this modification please hire a freelancer to help you out as it will require substantial php knowledge.

I have managed to show the authors on the article with two authors but it doesn’t work on the articles which have a single author [The link to author archive doesn’t work]

the modifications you’ve indicated some time ago to the file Newsmag/includes/wp_booster/wp-admin/content-metaboxes/td_set_post_settings.php (as shown at http://screencast.com/t/YcimFCB4W) worked for me like a charm until the update of Newsmag theme to the Version 2.3.5. The purpose was and still is to hide the sidebar selection combo to every user but to administrator. Now, even if the suggested modification has been applied, it doesn’t work anymore and the sidebar selection combo is “dangerously” visible and selectable from everyone. This way one (author, editor, …) could remove a “vital” sidebar from the system! How can I get the correct behaviour?
I’m using a Newsmag Child theme with only this modification to my Newsmag-child/includes/wp_booster/wp-admin/content-metaboxes/td_set_post_settings.php

Can i remove the author description in author box of an single post?
The trick with visual composer is to do your site layout, try to see if Radu’s beta “shim” works with latest version of Newspaper; then disable VC. Use the custom code to in functions remove VC loading anywhere except home page, make sure you have a lot of RAM allocated to a big site (I use 768MB for mine … but I’ve got dedicated box; 256MB for smaller sites). Limit number of queries in sidebar, don’t use the fancy “related post / more from author” (I use a simple text based related post plugin which prints 5 related stories below story above author box, and then THAT is cached with the post by the plugin!).
This kind of “tuning” can help with a very complex theme like Newspaper. Obviously a simpler “lean” theme will use less resources, due to having fewer bells and whistles. Trick is to trim some of the bells, and only use couple of whistles.
At least that was my experience.
