Hello, I like to change the default Blockquote with the Pulquote Center Style? Any tutorial?
Thanks
I didn’t see a suggestion box thread so I thought I’d add one. Here it goes…
1. Add H1 header tag to home page.
Yes, we can add a text block that contains H1. However, many users will not know how to do this. Thus, many users will never have H1 on their homepage which negatively impacts SEO. Another theme I use detects if the current page is the home page, and if so, it applies H1 to the logo and hidden text containing the site title and tagline.
2. Add an option to the blocks that allows users to select a header tag for the block title.
This will allow users to get H2 tags on the home page and archive pages. For the predefined templates, H2 should be selected on the home page and archive page blocks.
3. Include Alt tags in the images contained in blocks.
Every piece of media I have has an alt tag define for it. I would like these alt tags used. In cases where the alt tag is not defined, perhaps there can be an option to use the article title or the media filename as the alt tag.
4. Make it so that interacting with smart lists generates a distinct view in google analytics. I don’t know if this is hard or possible but it would provide users with a great benefit in terms of page views and add impressions.
5. Make it an option that when a site visitor clicks “next” on the last smart list item, they are sent to a new URL we specify. This is a sneaky way to get views on additional articles.
6. Ability to select background images and a URL and target for these images for a category, page, or post.
7. Allow admins to use HTML in their author page bio.
8. Ability to easily embed Facebook comments in addition to regular comments. Perhaps FB comments and regular comments can be placed in adjacent columns, full width without a sidebar next to them? That would be AWESOME. Throw in Google plus comments while you are at it. I’d pay extra for all of this. 🙂
I’ve tried a dozen themes. I’ve thoroughly reviewed all of the top selling theme demos on Theme Forest. Newspaper is in the top 3 themes I’ve ever used. I hope the SEO issues (1-3 above) can be resolved soon. Of note, a lot of the top selling Theme Forest themes have the same header tag issues.
So, we got NEWSMAG, and it is absolutely wonderful.
But now, we want to customize it and modify specific parts of the structure. But everything is really fragmented. So, a few questions:
– What is the wp_booster thing? (Is it something external or a tagDiv creation for all tagDiv templates?)
– What’s the folder and files organization like? There are includes, parts, and shortcodes. And then main blocks that call all of those.
Thanks in advance, we know that this template is highly customizable already via theme panel, but there are a few things we would like to edit a bit to suit our needs. Any infos you may throw in is welcome.
Thanks. Peace.
For the sidebar I just add a text block above the Google ad boxes with
– advertisement –
I use custom CSS to wrap in div with small size and centered-text.
You don’t have to do this for Google policies. What you CANNOT do is put word “sponsors” ! You will get warning for that.
Hi
I have not yet updated to NM 2.0 …
I will be doing so soon; and will post *updated* code for bottom of functions.php file. Not tested with child them, nor will I. 🙂
Note the things which are “safe” to use are those which modify the general WordPress core stuff, like removing versions, adding warning for those trying to guess login, changing default compression, emoji removal.
Don’t use Thomas’ long winded block of stuff for htaccess; as most of that has nothing to do with me and seems related to his optimization third party service doing stuff – some of which looks redundant to me.
Bryson T’s “slim” summary from July 2 in this thread, above, would be safe place to start.
Always remember to clear *all* your caching couple of times so you’re not loading old/new CSS and functions!
Hi

The result should be like here: http://screencast.com/t/Fmmy5OaE5Hm
Thanks!
Hi team TagDiv,
I don’t find the module block 21 like in demo in my wordpress widget area.
How can i do to use it ?
Thank you
Hi,
Please make sure that it is not an issue with your code as these elements were tested and should work fine also in your case. You can try to add your code and test it in a text block widget – http://screencast.com/t/UMC47W7APhsZ and see if it works. If doesn’t work you should check your code.
Thanks!
Hi,
Thanks for suggestion, I have added this on our list and we will think about this and try to find a better implementation in a future update. Mean time you can use the above suggestion and use a text block to have H! and H2 on the page or you can hire someone to do this modification in the code for you as unfortunately we cannot provide custom work at this time as we work hard on development, fixes and support, sorry! If you want to add h1 to the logo image here you can find the code – http://screencast.com/t/caUBOjNLu3f but I’m afraid that is is not a proper solution.
Thanks for the message!
Hi
Check the category settings in theme panel: http://screencast.com/t/H0tacrDr and enable the option to display the category on grids and blocks that you want, like in this example: http://screencast.com/t/KDR1O5nkLcN
Thanks!
Hi,
This is a predefined block(render like block 7) for footer and sort featured articles as you can see in the code – http://screencast.com/t/0hn24R9ZbVxS Also you can change footer style if you want and add your own widgets – http://screencast.com/t/CqSXKTqfwZ and add your widgets with your settings(filter category, sort order) – http://screencast.com/t/mI1Z6WNDUx
Thanks!
Hi,
You can take a look how get_category function is created for single posts where categories have background color – http://screencast.com/t/HlCR8cFibk so you will have to modify get_category function from td_module.php,like Radu stated above, this is applied on modules/blocks – http://screencast.com/t/Oyh578uao7vm
If you don’t know how to do it, I suggest to get someone to help you as we cannot provide custom work at this time, sorry!
Thanks!
Hi,
Please check this topic if you refer to the Ajax Filter Tab – https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/how-show-child-categorys-over-the-block/
Thanks!
Hi,
Please check this guide about block setting(Ajax Filter Tab) – https://forum.tagdiv.com/block-settings-tutorial/ just set ajax filter type by categories and paste the categories IDs that you want to display there – http://screencast.com/t/jInXuOH0TUz you can take category id like this – http://screencast.com/t/7IGPRmU8i
Result: http://screencast.com/t/DcnaU01fD
Hope this helps!
Hi,
I’m not sure if this is exactly what you want but you can try to use row in row and split the second row something like this – http://screencast.com/t/PmUjIHEXu it is the only way you can do this with Newspaper theme. Please note the tagdiv blocks were designed to be used on 1,2 or 3 columns.
Result: http://screencast.com/t/CdXzPdouD0Yx
Thanks!
Hi,
You can do this for each link that you add in a post/page content like this – http://screencast.com/t/ADXoKxifL – http://screencast.com/t/Lo4Pf5YJNIH
Also if you want to do this for old articles and you don’t want to edit them, you can try this custom css for post content links – http://screencast.com/t/dgUVGhkJw8
.td-post-content a {
color: #222;
font-weight: bold;
}
For pages will be more difficult to target only text links but I guess that you use a text block for this, please provide a link so I can check this how you created the page and try to provide an accurate solution.
Thanks!
Hi,
You can use blocks without thumbnails like block 9 or 10 – http://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/block-9/ for your homepage and also for you category page – http://screencast.com/t/BjNjEp7g Also if you want to use another modules or blocks without the thumbnails you can remove it from the code for each module – http://screencast.com/t/08aOLT9Cjv but you may need additional css customizations – http://screencast.com/t/wszdbxRHD
Thanks!
Hi,
Unfortunately the theme doesn’t have a similar block, you will need custom work to create a new block,module that will look like that and it is not an easy task. I suggest to get a professional to do this for you as we cannot provide custom work at this time, sorry!
Thanks!
Hi,
Please make sure that you use widgetised sidebar block and set sidebar that you want to display as using the default page template it will not display your sidebar automatically – http://screencast.com/t/7HUghDPJjd
Thanks!

3. You can customize the ajax pagination using custom css in Theme Panel > Custom Css, if you don’t have basic experience I suggest to get someone to help you for these customizations as we cannot provide custom work at this time, but we can do some suggestions.
4. Not sure what you mean, please provide more details – you can check our demo and see all tagdiv blocks – http://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/block-1/
5. Please provide more details about this.
6. You can add elements to your sidebar from WordPress dashboard.
Please make sure that you go through documentation – https://forum.tagdiv.com/wordpress-information/ we have added there and explained how works some of the theme options also you can check our youtube channel for some video tutorials(we will add more video tutorials) – https://www.youtube.com/user/tagdiv/videos Also please let us know if you still have any issues related to the theme and we will try to help you.
Thanks!
Hi tagDiv team!
I thought about something today, rather than create “SEE ALSO:..” links in body of the blog posts, I want to see if it is possible to include something like this : http://www.goproace.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/example_jul15-copy.jpg
Ideally, the Block appearing in the body of text of the post would show related posts according to the criteria set in the Block settings.
Is this possibly within the NewsMag theme?
Any help would be great! Thanks!
[td_block_social_counter custom_title=”STAY CONNECTED” facebook=”tagDiv” twitter=”envato” youtube=”envato”]
This line still remains in the front page after removing Social Counter plugin, please help how to remove it?
Thank you
This is similar to the effect I’m trying to achieve using Newspaper 6.3:
You see how on their inner column we have the red title (sans serif) and then the lighter subtitle (serif).
I’m building this module off of 5. I’m using the plugin method and I have had success making custom styles this way.
My attempt is something like this:
<div class="<?php echo $this->get_module_classes();?>" <?php echo $this->get_item_scope();?>>
<?php echo $this->get_title();?>
<?php echo $this->get_quotes_on_blocks(); ?>
<?php echo $this->get_item_scope_meta(); ?>
<div class="td-module-image">
<?php echo $this->get_image('td_417x235');?>
<?php if (td_util::get_option('tds_category_module_5_2') == 'yes') { echo $this->get_category(); }?>
</div>
</div>
But I’m not sure how to go about creating the custom CSS and using the correct variables to make this happen. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!
I cannot seem to create tabs within my blocks. I’m sure there is a simple solution, but I can’t find it. If I turn on the ajax filter, it creates tabs of every single category we have. (I don’t need that – I need to select only a few for each block.) If I try to filter it by particular categories, it doesn’t work. Is there something I’m missing?
I give it up
i try for more then 4 hours to find out how can i get that i see the child categorys.
Is this in the category template or where. i try and try and try and can not get it to work.
in the forum i found some pictures, there is a choosen area for the child categorys
i have some child categorys but i get only the menu virtical NOT horizontal !!!!
Please help me
