You can find here all thumbs dimensions which are created and used by the theme on module/blocks thumbs and sliders and as you can see the largest one is at 1074 × 483 so you should consider using an image at least 1074px wide and 483px height.
You have to do some tests and see what aspect ratio to use, depending what blocks/modules you use as there isn’t an ideal image size so it can look good on all thumbs.

1. Regarding that block on authors template it can’t be done using the page builder as the author template isn’t customizable however you could try to create your block using the VC page builder then use the do_shortcode function to place block’s shortcode to the template here: http://screencast.com/t/uuJFRN3aWNvQ

2. On author template the post’s section is given by the loop.php template and for the it can’t be set other pagination other than the numbered one so the infinite/load more pagination can’t be used there, just on blocks. Unfortunately theme doesn’t have an option to display a specific article on big thumb from Big Slider, you can try Marius’s solution and make that change in td_date_source.php but it will applied on all blocks – https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/how-to-sticky-post-on-big-silider/#post-12938

Hi,

Unfortunately you will need custom work to integrate events categories so you can use theme like articles categories on page blocks and it is not an easy task. I suggest to hire a freelancer to do this for you as we cannot provide any type of custom work at this time as we work hard on development, updates, fixes and support.

Unfortunately there isn’t an ideal image size(aspect ratio) so it can look good on all thumbs, also depends which blocks/modules that you use and you have to do some tests and see what aspect ratio to use. The infinite load pagination ca be used on blocks, so the only way is to use a block to display you latest articles and set pagination to “infinite load” and use a page template without article list – http://screencast.com/t/sWZlCICKR8Sk – http://screencast.com/t/njigS8SZ
If you use a page template with articles list only “normal” pagination is available.

@saputrabros As Chris states here the qTranslate X

is a descendant of qTranslate, which has apparently been abandoned by the original author, Qian Qin.

Unfortunately we aren’t considering switching to wpml plugin and we will add a new translation system built in the theme, based on .po .mo files which will come with theme already translated in several common languages (via theme panel, .po .mo are also provided). All this will be available from theme version no 5 and this changes should also make the theme work with other translation plugins.

@garadrim Did you solve the issue with sidebar’s widgets? Please make sure that you haven’t used any special characters into it’s name and if so renamed it and try again.
That option ” Block Settings ” is available for Newsmag theme, we will add some features (that already are used in Newsmag) also in Newspaper version 5.

I guess that you have looked on Newsmag theme demo and documentation. Unfortunately the Homepage Post is not available for Newspaper theme at this time. In version 5 of the theme will be added more blocks/modules and some features that already are used in Newsmag.

I’m not sure what you mean, Newspaper is responsive as it is fluid and style for desktop/tables/mobile screens. So the blocks/modules from a page are adjusted for mobile/tablet devices.
