Well… you realize that the purpose of that lineup in the robots.txt file and hence the words “disallow” are intended to tell Google and other bots what *not* to spider or look at (e.g., friendly blocking).

Anything you don’t want blocked shouldn’t be there.

Anything you do want blocked should be.

Some people have just taken to removing all that stuff for WordPress.

For instance my code in the examples from my optimization sticky effective disable trackbacks.

If you don’t have an affiliate (“aff” ?) folder — no need to block it.

If you don’t have a cgi-bin folder … why block it?

With “search” — I am not sure yes/no on whether that should be blocked since technically you do want Google to “discover” your search to add the new site search hinting.

For instance the Yoast site got rid of all of those items entirely.

So, upshot — unless you KNOW WHY you’re blocking something, why block it?

Some hosting companies have an old default robots.txt template that gets built “for you” which is how you might have ended up with that — but in most cases, really not needed now.

Those are only “guidelines” anyway — they don’t really block anything except those ‘bots that adhere to your “request” not to look in those folders. They are not actually “real” blocks against anybody.

check your robots.txt file to see if you’re blocking something….

ideally you should not be blocking the main wordpress core folders …

New Sort Option in Blocks - topic

Hey there!

We’re trying to use the ‘Blocks 4’ module to create a blog archive. We would like to use a block for each month. We “could” create a month/year category and apply to each post, but we’d rather be able to sort or apply by date range or month/year.

Is there a section of code we can alter to enable a change like this?

Thank you very much guys, i solved that out following your advise!
But i have now same problems with the new update.

1. Theme fonts, clicking on Modules & Blocks Article Title,results in endless loading and no fonts options are shown after on… Nothing to access and to eventually edit.

2. How to remove the lazy load of pictures? I prefer old way

Change sidebar block heading background color - topic

I have searched the forum about this topic but none of the answers seem to do exactly what I want.

Changing the color for the normal blocks (in pages) is easily done. However I can´t seem to be able to target correctly and give the right code for changing just the background color on the blocks in the sidebar.

I want to change to color of the background (behind the text, the rest should keep being white) and the 2px horizontal line. Using block 2 and block 3. Realize all these block will change background-color when the changes is applied.

How do I do it with custom CSS?

Many style inside div error appear but we use them on our blocks and we couldn’t find no alternative for that, you should ignore them, they are not important.

Modify each post and save it in order you want to appear.

Other solutions require more complex modifications on the blocks code, if you need that i suggest that you hire a professional to modify it for you.

Unfortunately Big Grid is not available in Newspaper theme. I think that you read Newsmag documentation – https://forum.tagdiv.com/extra-content-blocks/
In Newspaper version 5 will be added also more blocks, we still work on it.

I am useing a MOBILE REDIRECT and on mobile i put just block 4 (12 posts). I want to my mobile look like that, but my ipad olso look like that, i want him to look like desktop. Do you know why? On my funkcions in Mobile Redirect – redirect tablets is Offline

I’ve searched in the documentation, but I don’t find if there is shortcodes available for the blocks. For example, I want to use Block 7 in a post.
Is the shortcode something like [td_block_7] ?
And what are the argument for the shortcode ?

Grey Area showing in Big Grid Photo section - topic

I am trying to fix the problem I am having with the Big Grid. In some of the post the pictures get downsized by a grey gradiant. When the gradiant is in place you cant make out the text due to the text being white. I want the Big Grid to appear like in the Demo Version. Things I have done. 1. added Thumbnail Upscale plugin. 2.added same posts to the big slider block. The photoS will enlarge to fit slider, so dont know why a photo would not enlarge to the smaller grids of the Big Grid.

Blocks uses different loop from the one used on modules/categories.
Try it like this: post->ID , 'gueltig', true); echo $gueltig; ?>
