Thanks. What I’m actually experiencing is the following:
1-choosen block11
2-filled in “Category filter:” – value “NEWS”
3-filled in “Filter by tag slug:” – value “juventus”

It seems it actually works as I expect: I see only posts categorized as “NEWS” AND tagged as “juventus”.

Can be this behavior working on block 11 only ? (I think big grid work same manner)

Hi,

The posts from blocks can be filtered by category OR by tag and the default one is filter by category – http://screencast.com/t/rPqwwPT0 You would need custom modification for this and it is not an easy task I suggest to hire a professional as we cannot provide custom work at this time as we work on updates/development and support. Sorry for this!

Child theme .php being overwritten by parent theme - topic

Hey,

I wanted to replace module 6 within block 3 with module 7. This is because there’s no block that calls on module 7, which I want as my frontpage.

I did this by editing the td_block_3.php file and making it call on module 7 instead of module 6 as well as making it so that it only uses the one column layout. You can see how I did this here: http://i.imgur.com/Tz5JHhu.png

Now, this works when I do this within the parent theme. However, when I try to do this within the child theme it doesn’t work. Could you recommend to me the best way to do this through a child theme to get the results I’m looking for?

Yes. Visual Composer is a memory hog.

Also if your site gets overloaded with requests. I just posted note on the Newsmag forum about our site getting slammed by the YANDEX bot and our server processes when from normal of about “1” up to “49” … which is 50x normal (!)… it’s actually worse than that. We blocked Yandex and it’s coming down to normal.

Hi,

i’m using NewsMag and Event Manager. Everything works except one thing.

On my blog i have sidebar with latest artciles (NAJNOWSZE ARTYKUŁY): http://www.edurozrywka.pl/blog – the dates of articles are dispayed correctly, as they should be.

The same sidebar is displayed on the signle event view, as in these samples:

How to change it or display another sidebar (i have second one without widgets with with blocks).

Please help.

Those scripts are usually automatically moved to the footer when using the speed booster plugin however the jQuery scripts aren’t moved to the footer by the speed booster plugin in case you use rev slider plugin. There is a condition in the plugin that if you use the revolution slider plugin then the jQuery scripts will be left in the head therefore you get the render-blocking JavaScript notification.

We recommend using just page cache: forum.tagdiv.com/w3-total-cache-configuration/
For image compression we recommend a plugin like smush it: https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-smushit/ not the w3 total cache plugin.

Hi,

The theme dose have a tag filter which you can use to filter your posts after specific tags on blocks/sliders and this is not bound in anyway by the category filter, the posts that have that tag will be called: http://screencast.com/t/WvGwU06DTA

i made this,

single.php (copy) —> single-gallery.php
loop-single.php (copy) —-> loop-single-gallery.php

Now i have special single.php for gallery format.

But i cant blocked ads in loop-single-gallery.php

If you have unique articles enabled on page you will have different result on blocks even it is set the same settings. So please make sure that you don’t have this active: http://screencast.com/t/SQPnrNezWYTh
I’m not sure what you mean, but you can edit view count from custom fields: http://screencast.com/t/ovwSRJh30

Hi
We have categories for 2 different lines of posts: News and Long stories.
Each of these categories have sub cats, that drill down the scopes.

We have a home page with blocks that shows with different blocks news and various subcategories of stories.

Now we want to build several pages similar to the hoe but filtered for specific tags (we talk about football teams, we tag the posts with the football club name).

Can a block show posts using categories AND tags (intersection) instead of union like it seems to be now?

I am having the same issue with my site, INSCMagazine, http://theinscribermag.com as the images on the main page take forever to learn and the images on Block 14 don’t show up at all, as well as the images at the bottom in the “latest articles” section. Please advise.

Confusion regarding "sorting by popularity" in blocks - topic

Hey guys,

I’m running into a confusing issue content blocks. When I set them to display “all categories” sorted by “popular all time”, I’m getting different results in different areas on the page.

Rather than describing everything out , I made a quick screencast of the issue:

Ultimately I want these blocks to show the same results.

Also had a question about the “view count” in post settings.

If you toggle it off, does it actually kill the view-counting function “altogether”? I ask because I have blog articles that have outperformed (according to google analytics) previously popular posts by a landslide, however they don’t show up. Even if I change the block to sort by the parent category that the recent popular post is under… it still doesn’t show up.

Is there a way to reset the view counter or manually edit the view count of a specific post?

Thank you for the on-going development and premium support for your Themes. I would like to know if there is a way to use Tags alone and not categories to identify the posts I want to display in blocks/modules?

Hi,

When I updated with the last version I hade realy problem with VC. VC changed the block slide which I use for feature posts.

I think the team do not need to update the theme every month. They should take time and check many time to secure all the bugs befor releasing the next versions. That will save for us a lot of time.

I will not update now my current theme version.

I Like this theme – almost the best theme for websites now. The more theme works with out bugs the more we will love it.

How to exclude subcategory from block-6 category switcher - topic

There is a category “Blog” which contains 6 subcategories. 1 of them has its own subcategory. I want to exlude this sub-sub category from block-6 cat switcher. Look at the screenshot below.

Hi, typically you need to
a) setup a page, create layout with visual composer, preview
b) go to WP settings > reading > first section
change to using the page name you created for home page
front page displays
[x] static page
>> page name

Hope that helped 🙂

Often what I do is just do a simple 2 column layout with something like

[ 2 col ] [ 1 col ]

in left column use block 11 for latest
in right column use widget area, temp use the default sidebar

make that live so home page works

then I create second page to mess with layouts until I like it, then swap the static page used for home page and delete the first page.

I have installed the theme and made necessary changes.

Google page speed came up with the result like this

Remove render-blocking JavaScript:

for the last file there as id “jetpack_css-css”

so i have used $this->move_style_to_footer(‘jetpack_css-css’);

For the first two there wasnt any id so i didnt know how to do that.

How i can solve the problem.

Custom Ads not getting saved? - reply

I am not having this issue; I’m using latest Chrome on Win7/64, which for me seems to work best with the theme management in general. I just updated all my ad blocks with updated color schema from AdSense so the text ads would look better. No problem at all in v1.6 or v1.7 (so far).

Try clearing all your caches, on website *and* in your web browser. Stupid, I know, but that always seems to be the culprit (well, not always, but often…).
