That works perfectly. Added the custom module 5 to the child theme and removed the date, author, comments/views lines as well and it looks great. Thanks.

How can I create a block that uses a custom post type with custom taxonomies. It appears that currently you can only create content blocks from regular categories but not from custom taxonomies.

Am I missing something?

View counter fix to work with 7 days post count - topic

Hi,

Does the workaround to fix the post views when using a cache plugin work with the 7 days post sort in the sidebar? I know this fix will show correct views on the top of a post page, but will it also fix the 7 days post sort order in the blocks?

And are you guys planning on integrating the ajax view count in the theme? I don’t like to install so many different plugins to fix the bugs that come with this theme… I mentioned this problem months ago and you guys said that you would fix in in one of the future updates. We’re at least 4 updates further, but the only solution you provide is using another couple of plugins to make it work, instead of fixing it wihtin in theme.

Also, I use block 2 in the sidebar to highlight some post (just like the theme’s live preview) and want to manually select the posts i want to display there. It it possible to filter the post according to post id? I was highlighting the most viewed posts with the 7 days post count but since that doesnt work i now show the most recent posts there…

Hi Marius,

Thanks so much for getting back to me and offering a solution. My clients are hell bent on getting a category icon showing up over the image though, I don’t think this will pacify them!

Do you think this is something an external developer could do or is the structure of the theme too complex? Anyone you could recommend?

Hi,

You can modify that block if you want, Block 8 use Module 5 to be built.

Edit module 5 like here: http://screencast.com/t/iqjZeyjB and increase the excerpt to 250 from Theme panel -> Excerpt on Module 5

Hi,
That area doesn’t support shortcode. Wjat you can do is to add a link like: <a href="you link">Review criteria</a> http://screencast.com/t/wYsrptDj

Then you can style that link if you want like a button: Use this CSS, add it in Theme panel -> Custom CSS

Hi,

@jadmac is everything ok now? That plugin crop the images at the size required by each module/block. All that sizes are defined in function.php here: http://screencast.com/t/fRFBmozIS if you want to change the size to a desired aspect ratio.

Hi,
When you add a text with tile in page builder(visual compose you can switch to classic editor and copy the shortcode. You can use that shortcode in a WP text widget, here are an example: [td_text_with_title custom_title="Test block" header_color="#237f33"]

Use that shortcode.

Hi,
You can make this by customizing the code a little, like:

Adding a condition for each category like here: http://screencast.com/t/C3W68v7p1d1

if (is_category(1)) {
                    echo td_global_blocks::get_instance('td_ad_box')->render(array('spot_id' => 'custom_ad_1'));
                }

This example: if category ID 1 will show the custom Ad 1 AD.

To add more custom ADs replace this files: http://www.tagdiv.com/theme/users/9-custom-ad.zip

Hi:

Yes, but that option only lists the most recent items. I was suggesting a new sorting option for blocks: random posts from last 24 hours or random posts from last 7 days, etc. In order to show fresh content, recent content but in a random way, but avoiding old posts from showing randomly on the frontpage.

Unable to generate larger images in 3.6 - topic

Hi,
I seem to have an issue I cannot debug, and have tried using regenerate thumbnails, auto-post-thumbnail-pro, and even deleting a featured image, and uploading new file.

E.g.,
I have 700×406 image, set as featured image, cannot get the larger image for home page slider block (large left image, 745×483). No caching. Also, a 650×350 image from older article/theme, won’t enlarge to the “featured” image size for category 700×357.

Not sure if there is some king of image/function setting blocking the moderate enlargement for use in the featured box sizes, but I have cropping “on” in the theme panel, which is needed by the WP image scaler to create larger image (“enlargement”), and have “crop to actual size” on in wp settings > media.

In media, I have thumbnails set to:
small = 100×65
medium = 700×357
large = 745×483

Anyone have an idea why I’m not able to get the enlarged versions generated? Theme should “build these” or the regen plugin “should” do this, but not getting either working.

Directory for images is writable and owned by ftpuser, not server/apache, so not a permissions issue.

Any feedback would be helpful. I am now stumped after messing with this on/off for two days. I even tried deleting ALL thumbnails (!!!) and then manually going back in and reuploading the featured images on 50 posts (OUCH!!!). So, done my due diligence on anything remotely obvious here.

Enable Sticky Posts - topic

Hi,

I would like to use the sticky posts option to put some articles on top of blocks. I have used your solution mentionned here : https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/sticky-posts/
But, unfortunatly it doesn’t work in my case.
I use :
– the block 2 to display only one category
– a small slider to the same category and featured posts
– unique articles : activated

With the previous solution, the sticky post works only when I choose the option “- All categories -” for the block 2, not when I specify a category.

Any hack to activate the sticky post with a category?
I hope 🙂

Hi:

A suggestion: I was wondering if more sorting options could be included when configuring blocks, like:

1.- Random posts from last 7 days
2.- Random posts from today

For daily publications, it’s always nice to show readers fresh content when they visit the frontpage, so random posts from today would be a hit instead of just random posts that show old articles.

I use disqus and I say it in advance, so:

In the front page, the comment bubble is not a link to lead to the comment section of the post! That’s a big problem as most of my visitors come just to comment! Can this be fixed?

Also, disqus doesn’t work properly after moving to this theme and gives this error on firebug:

Hi,

How can I make the more stories leave the page?

At the moment in the theme panel there is the option for when to allow the more stories to come in (default 400px) but I want to have the option to remove it too -at present if you scroll to the bottom of the screen it blocks the third footer widget.

FYI, when you download the theme files, there is clearly a file called “update_log.txt” … you can download the update zip file without having to install it on your website.

Good idea to spend some time familiarizing yourself with the files you’re downloading, as to what is in each folder and the supporting documents. Just a thought, no insult intended.
