Hello Tibbar,
We know about this bug and we hope to solve it as soon as possible in near future updates. Check the code below and place it in Theme panel -> Custom CSS area.
The code is here ->
.tdb_breadcrumbs span:last-child{
pointer-events:none;
}
Thanks.
Hi bogdan,
The child theme is up-to-date. When I look further it seems to me speedbooster is working, but in status it says it’s disabled because of conflicting plugins.
When I start disabling those plugins, … nothing much is left. I think the speedbooster plugin needs some inspection. 😉
Hello heedozz,
If you want more support and information about Child Theme, please check the following useful guide from here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-child-theme-support-tutorial/
Thanks for your understanding!
If the theme is updated, should I change it every time? I wonder if there is a way to change it in a child theme or CSS
Hello,
Did you update the child theme? A child theme needs to be updated to the current version of the theme also. The child theme cs does not contain any css rules. The file just points to the theme css file. Please use the child theme provided in the theme package for testing purposes (back-up your existing child theme beforehand. )
Thank you!
Hi there,
I did some extended testing and it’s the tagdiv booster plugin. when enabled it renders the style css from the main theme before those added in the css of the child theme.
As you mentioned it’s not any other plugin it’s css in child theme style.css!
I suppose I’n not the only one facing this issue.
Looking forward to your reply.
Hi,
Doing it in a child theme would indeed be helpful in this case, but unfortunately it is not possible for that file, it’s not supported.
You would have to make this modification after each update, or maybe backup the file and replace it after a theme update.
Note that the file could be modified by us as well, check in the list of modified files before you update the theme.
Thanks
Hi Simion,
Thanks a lot for your answer, it works like a charm.
However, it works if I directly change the thumbtype in td_wp_booster_functions.php of Newspaper Parent theme. I tried to inherit the file to override the default thumbtype in my Newspaper child theme, by copying/pasting the includes folder but it doesn’t work.
Is there a way to override the td_wp_booster_functions.php file in my child theme without editing it directly? I would like to do so to prevent reset by future Newspaper updates.
Thanks,
Jacques
Hello Manulinho,
Please provide your website URL so I can take a closer look at it. Maybe your images are stuck in opacity 0. This usually happens on a js error caused by plugins or customization or other external optimization tools. Please disable all plugins except visual composer or TD Composer, remove all of unknown Ad Code, clear cache and reset CDN files if you use it. Please also check any custom code you might have added to the theme panel or the theme files. If you use a child theme, please switch to the main theme to make sure it does not affect the proper functioning of the theme.
Hope this helps and let us know how it goes!
Thanks for the message!
Ahhhh, so no way I can do this in the child theme? I’ve been clearing cloudflare, server, opcache, and local caches repeatedly when trying to make it work on a child theme, but I’m glad now it seems to only work with a parent theme change.
OK, I will do it in the parent theme, but I hope there is a toggle or something to allow/disallow thin in the theme. I need to repair it each time there is a Newspaper theme upgrade 🙁
It takes up precious real estate in the window. I hope theme can work on the “outside” and not on the “inside” or WordPress — you understand my meaning?
I read through this thread a couple weeks ago and implemented the change but it would only work if I made the change in the Parent theme. If I changed it in editor-style.css of the child theme, the change was not reflected and I still saw the “sidebar” in the Edit Post screen. Anything I’m doing wrong?
Hi,
Bets you do it in a child theme so it will not be lost after a theme update.
As for the button colors, use this code – https://www.screencast.com/t/1p1BqfoV
.td_block_4 .td_module_2 .td-read-more a{
background-color: red;
color: black;
}
Change the colors as you wish, then enter it in Theme panel->Custom CSS.
I was able to implement the Read More button by copying the code as you suggested thank you. Now I have 2 more questions:
(1) How can I change the background color of the button
(2) Do I need to move this code into the new child theme or will it “stick” through theme updates?
Thanks again
Buck
Hi,
Categories can be created the WordPress way, parent categories and child categories (or main categories and sub-categories). The theme will not interfere with creating categories as you want. Create them as needed.
Displaying posts from them in pages will not be a problem, our blocks, grids etc have many filtering settings
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/block-settings-guide/
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/tagdiv-composer-tutorial/
For the header section there will be 2 menus, a top menu and a main menu. In the top menu you can add menu items normally, you can create drop-down menus there.
In the main menu you can do all that and for example mega-menus
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/mega-menu/
The “Fashion” and “Gadgets” in the live theme demo are mega-menus
– https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/
Let me know if you have more questions.
Thanks
Hi,
Unfortunately, not all files work from the child theme. Most of the files under wp_booster will only work from the main theme.
Thank you!
Hi,
@blawrimore I believe this topic will be helpful in this case, with the necessary modifications
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/read-more-button-and-cant-change-title-color/
You could use a child theme in order to not lose the customization
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-child-theme-support-tutorial/
Or you could simply use a flex block instead of block 4
– https://www.screencast.com/t/cxwy1ql4
This also has settings for the read more button

Thanks
Hello,
This could be a plugin conflict so please disable all plugins except the page builder, clear cache and reset cdn files if you use it. Please also check any custom code you might have added to the theme panel or the theme files. If you use a child theme, please switch to the main theme to make sure it does not affect the proper functionality of the theme.
Thank you!
The following works, but only when I update the parent theme vs child .. do I need to add all files under directory includes > wp_booster to make this change appear in my child theme?
function get_excerpt($cut_at = '') {
//If the user supplied the excerpt in the post excerpt custom field, we just return that
//HIS - if manual excerpt, trim to be 55 words vs entire excerpt
if ($this->post->post_excerpt != '') {
$custom_excerpt = $this->post->post_excerpt;
return wp_trim_words( $custom_excerpt, 55, '....');
}
I just spent $61 on a theme that requires programming capabilities. I am a simple user that wants a theme that is PnP…this is the error message I got when installing this theme:
Oh, and I had to upload it via c-Panel and unzip it there.
Broken Themes
The following themes are installed but incomplete.
Name Description
Newspaper Template is missing. Standalone themes need to have a index.php template file. Child themes need to have a Template header in the style.css stylesheet.
Please help….urgently.
Hello,
As per your documentation, to use with a Custom Post Type, I have created a custom template “single-myCPT.php” in Newspaper Child Theme.
It works great, on the regular desktop version but does not work in the Mobile theme, displaying header/footer of the website correctly, but no content, exactly as If I didn’t fill the Mobile Editor. ..But being a CPT, I do not have the Mobile Editor Showing up in WP admin when I edit the CPTs. ( the CPT is created using plugin POD )
Are there any solution or workaround ? besides disabling mobile theme of course.. ( I just want do display the same content as the Desktop theme )
Regards,
Hello ecstaticperson,
1)It seems to be strange to this behavior. I have inspected your category page and I saw that problem happened due only for this category page and the code below will be applied only for this page. Use the code below and place it in Theme panel.
.category-5380 .td-category-pulldown-filter{
top:30px;
}
2)You should use the code below ->
.td-pulldown-filter-item:nth-child(4){
display:none;
}
.td-pulldown-filter-item:nth-child(5){
display:none;
}
3)Also, if you want to remove that filter altogether, can do this from Theme panel, from here -> https://www.screencast.com/t/Bm4NPdJCBkt2
4)Provide some useful screenshots of the problem so I can identify it closer. Also, if you are using some untested plugins, try to disable all of these to avoid any conflict.
Thanks for the message!
The mobile theme folder is insider the Newspaper>Mobile section. You cannot edit the mobile theme inside the child theme, only in the main theme. So you will have to keep a backup of the mobile folder so you do not lose it with any new updates. But remember the mobile plugin is built for speed, so custom modifications are not supported by tagdiv team (I don’t work here).
I use the mobile theme,and now i want to modify the templates like function.php,header.php,
Where are the templates?
And…I use the Newspaper-child,Does it useful for the mobile theme
If it does,what do I need to do?
Hope you can understand
Thanks
Can you tell me what file in theme creates the breadcrumb output path?
I really need this for SEO and I will probably have to switch themes if I or my developer can’t child theme it to edit this part…
