Hi,

The theme will set the website logo as h1 as explained in these topics
https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/h1-on-logo-inside-pages/
https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/h1-in-logo/
https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/multiple-h1-in-a-my-custom-page/

Header style 3 and multipurpose header style 3 are different header styles. The non multipurpose styles can be modified in a child theme, the others cannot (they are added by the former multipurpose plugin now included in the tagDiv composer).

Thanks

How is the situation of this subject after this hole and a half year? It’s still not possible to edit these files in child theme?

If not, can you suggest another solution? I don’t want to lose the changes when I update the theme, and I need this mobile menu feature.

Thanks!

Hello. Tried to change a page that was made in 8.0 newspaper with updated to 8.8.2 and 9.0.1 and got the error:
“Error at rows: x (models) : x (dom). The model does not match the content”
First I saw it in old version, switched ALL PLUGINS – did not help.
Updated to 9.0.1 version of newspaper – same.
Switched off all plugins – same.
Changed PHP from 7.0.24 to 5.4.6 – same.
Made a new clean page tried to edit it with TD same error: “Error at rows: 1(models) : 0(dom). The model does not match the content”

Deleted the whole folder with theme and child theme.
Installed a new one, disabled all plugins – same.

I understand that possibly the problem is not in theme…. but where to start to look for solving the issue?

Wordpress said my them is installed but missing files.
This is what it says:

“Template is missing. Standalone themes need to have a index.php template file. Child themes need to have a Template header in the style.css stylesheet.”

Hello,

Here is the css needed to remove the image gradient:

.td-grid-style-1 .td-module-thumb a:last-child:before{
display:none!important;
}

You can add it in the theme panel under custom css.

thank you!

Hello.

I really want to remove H1 from Logo because I like to add the h1 tag in every page by myself. But I have some doubts about do that. I did that:

1. It seems that I need to create a Child Theme. I followed this steps to do that and everything was perfect: https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/creating-a-child-theme/

2. I use header 3 multipurpose for my website. So I copy the file header-style-3.php from my parent theme to Newspaper-child/parts/header/header-style-3.php

3. Change the code like this: http://www.screencast.com/t/HkuuAayUyX4U (I used the WordPress Editor)

But It doesn’t work, Logo in Home is h1. What I’m doing bad?
Thank you very much

Hello.
I’m working with Craft Ideas, a child theme and Header Style-10, and I’m trying to reach this:
I’ve got 7 categories and I want a different header image depending on which category I’m in (default image for the rest of pages in the site).
I also trying to get a different color for each category for h tags, links and other commun elements.

I’m a PHP programmer, so I could edit the template files if needed. In fact, I was trying several changes in header-style-10.php file.

Could you tell me how to get that?

Thanks in advance!

Hello,

This could be a plugin conflict so please disable all plugins except the page builder, clear cache and reset cdn files if you use it. Please also check any custom code you might have added to the theme panel or the theme files. If you use a child theme, please switch to the main theme to make sure it does not affect the proper functionality of the theme.

Thank you!

Hi,

Sorry but this will not work from the child theme. You will have to re-apply the images after you update if you want to change the default implementation for the placeholders.

Thanks

Hi Epic,

Unfortunately, the theme does not have any such an option for this! Most likely, you can achieve as you wish but through the code and if you are not aware of the steps which are needed to take in this case, please consider hiring a freelancer/developer to help you because we cannot provide custom work at the moment, sorry! As a hint, we recommend using the Child Theme to your custom modification to avoid losing all of them to a future update. Usually, we recommend the developers from studio.envato.com

Thanks for your understanding!

Can this be applied to a child theme? Or upon every update of the theme do we need to replace the images once again?

This is a preview for the child theme in the admin panel of your site:

Please read me carefully.

themeforest-5489609-newspaper.zip -> Newspaper-tf -> code -> Newspaper-child

Extract all 3 files

functions.php
screenshot.png
style.css

to a folder

wp-content/themes/Newspaper-child/

via FTP.

This folder

wp-content/themes/Newspaper-child/

on the hosting (server) you have to create manually via FTP client (like Filezilla for example).

After this activate the Child Newspaper Theme in admin-panel of your WordPress site.

I downloaded the Newspaper zip from Envato (where I bought it) and uncompressed it. I didn’t find a Newspaper-child directory in it.

I also didn’t see that directory on my server.

I then went to Themeforest to make sure your response wasn’t totally literal and didn’t see anything there.

Please advise.

Hello,

Unfortunately not all files can be changed from the child theme. The files that can be modified are listed here: https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-child-theme-support-tutorial/

Thank you!

Hi Francesco,

First of all, you should make a full back up to your database to avoid losing all of your data. Also, please notice that if you do not have a child theme, when you update the theme to the latest version of it and if your changes files will be overwritten, all of your customizations will be lost, sorry! You should make them again after you have updated your theme or you should start using the child theme.

Thanks for your understanding!

Extract all 3 files

functions.php
screenshot.png
style.css

from the Themeforest archive

/code/Newspaper-child/

to a folder

wp-content/themes/Newspaper-child/

on your hosting (server) with your wordpress-site

and activate the Child Newspaper Theme in admin-panel.

That is all. Try it.
