Search Results for 'child theme'

I have recently migrated our website from staging to live wp multisite and I am unable to login using the theme login modal, I have no idea how this sidebar has activated and i cannot find where to deactivate in the theme panel and for some reason one of my client’s domain (megphilipauthor.com) is registered on the theme with my license. However the client website is not hosted on my WPMS and has a different license.

I have used WP Troubleshooting to see if there’s a plugin conflict but there’s doesn’t seem to be one.

I’m still running Newspaper 7 in child form, because back then it was necessary to customize it.

Since I could now achieve the same using the tools that the new versions have incorporated, and since I want the updates to be done automatically, I want to get rid of the child theme. How can I do that?

If I install the new version over the child, I think the child will remain (after all it was its function to preserve certain php, css, etc.).
If I install the new version on a new WordPress on a subdomain, I would have to somehow import all the posts/articles with their paths, hierarchies, categories that I made, etc., before move it to the main domain.

What would be the best way to get rid of the child theme?

I tested the upgrade to newspaper 12.2 but it broke the display of our site’s logo – it hard coded the width of the logo in pixels in the img tag in the new version, where this didn’t happen before. I had to revert to 12.1.1 to fix it.

I also tried to use a Child Theme as described in the documentation to override the parts/header/logo-h1.php, but it I could not get it to override in the child theme successfully. I copied the file from the td-standard-pack location to themes/Newspaper-child/parts/header/logo-h1.php but it refused to override.

Any suggestions on how to fix either of these issues?

The theme looks beautiful, and I’m enjoying it. But the issue I’ve run into is that it seems that for child categories like those under the “software” category, posts don’t show. They only show in the page for the parent category. In addition, they don’t show in any of the tag pages.

I am using TagDiv Composer to build the post and I found these elements in PHP. They are located in the td-cloud-library plugin.

A fix is required in this file (removing the link from the author’s photo and from the author’s name), but I don’t know how to do it, because I don’t want to overwrite the plugin (I care about updates). i have installed child theme and made some changes to functions.php which are working fine. but they are not working on mobile as I have mobile theme plugin installed. i had to make changes to wp-content\plugins\td-composer\mobile\functions.php to make them appear on mobile. but after theme update they are gone and i have to edit mobile’s functions.php again, is there any way keep those changes in mobile’s functions.php after update?? like child theme’s changes which stay on desktop?
