Hi,
please make sure that you have the latest version of the theme and the latest version of the child theme! That should fix the problem. I think there is an older child theme version and it has some issues.

You need to copy a module in Child theme, in exact location where is in the parent theme.

I see you implement a breadcrumb functionality with different functions for differents templates (author, search, archive, category… etc) but for working with custom post types and taxonomies they aren’t good enought.
I would like to use breadcrumb from seo by yoast, it do a very good job but it’s no easy to implement in your theme. If I add the yoast_breadcrumb function in header.php it’s out your div structure and don’t seem ok. I would like it to appear on the same place your breadcrumbs. There is any easy way to do it without edit all your breadcrumbs function ?

I looked through similar topics here and other online tutorials and seems that I set everything right but pagination on posts doesn’t work. In text editor, I put <!–nextpage–> but nothing happens, tho post does not break.
I tried turning off all the plugins and also switched from child theme back to unedited original Newspaper theme but no results.
Using WordPress 3.8.1 (because last version of qTranslate is for this WP version) and Newspaper 3.8.
Any advice please?

I know what the problem is…
WP 3.9 contained some pretty huge changes, including media handling. Newspaper 3.7 specifically addressed these changes to maintain the themes compatibility with WP.
So it makes no sense to dig any further. You either need to revert back to WP 3.8.3 or upgrade the theme.
I’d strongly recommend that you take this time to do the following.
1. Revert back to WP 3.8.3 until the following steps are completed
2. Move all customizations from the parent theme to the Child Theme ( Child Theme Documentation – https://forum.tagdiv.com/child-theme-documentation/ )
3. Upgrade the theme to 3.8 following the specific instructions for the 3.7 update that are crucial future theme versions and your problem directly ( See the guide here – https://forum.tagdiv.com/newspaper-v-3-7/ – specifically note that the existing wpbakery folder must be deleted for 3.7 + to work )
It is a chore to move the customizations to the child theme but doing so means you can stay current on features and bug fixes without this headache in the future. Remember, every release of a theme and of WordPress includes bug fixes – not just the features you’re so eager to dismiss.
Good luck and please post back here if you run into any problems.
It’s a pain but take your time to do it once and things are just much simpler from there. Don’t forget to activate the child theme.

Not exactly the kind of issue I had… I messed up.
For your problem, unfortunately, you must upload the whole theme fresh since you missed the patches – that’s the most sure-fire way to get it done.
If your customizations are in all in the Custom CSS tab of the theme panel, then they are safe in the database.
If your customizations are all in the child theme files then they are safe from a full install of the parent theme.
If your customizations are all in the parent theme then you have just a few choices and none are great.
1. Never update the theme again, which also means you can’t upgrade to WordPress 3.9 as 3.6 and below of the theme aren’t compatible with WP 3.9
2. Best Option – Move your customizations to the child theme and Custom CSS of the theme panel so you don’t lose them on future upgrades to the parent theme ( Here’s Newspaper child theme documentation – https://forum.tagdiv.com/child-theme-documentation/ )
3. Worst Option – copy all of your customizations to Newspaper 3.8, meaning you’ll have to do that with each update
4. You could go through all of the updates since version X to 3.8 compiling a complete list of modified files, but if you miss one your site will likely break ( 3.7 had a major change, see https://forum.tagdiv.com/newspaper-v-3-7/ for instructions to convert the Visual Composer to a plugin )

After The theme update these editing not work. I tryied child theme also but not working. In New theme i have edited files but not theme not work properly after editing.
I have updated alatest version of theme. and when i installed child theme and activated then many problem occur. Pages not displaying properly. See scrennshot http://i.imgur.com/cVitA9H.jpg
The “Last Updated” area shows May 1st as the most recent, so it should be out tomorrow.
Happy for it myself. All my customizations are safely stored in the database and child theme and this update is a definite bug fix.

Hi,
The tagDiv Speed Booster works with our recommended plugins, with others plugins could cause incompatibility.
I recommend to deactivate it if you have other plugins active.
About the issue above, I’m not sure what you have there, but what you can do to be sure that everything is fine, is to make again the Theme + Child update and remove the tagDiv speed Booster if you don’t use it. Everything should work with no errors.

while reading the instructions to upgrade to version 3.7, it says that I need to activate the parent theme in order to install Visual Composer (now as separate plugin).
In my case, I installed the plugin while using the child theme, I just uploaded the plugin zip file and installed/activated it. And it works fine.
Is there a problem doing it that way? Or is it mandatory to install the way you indicate on the instructions? New future version of VC will be supplied by you?
BTW, I would suggest that any new upcoming version special instructions would be published on the main Newspaper forum as sticky post, because, it’s kinda hiddend on another forum category “Updates info” that maybe the major of the users didn’t read and found that after upgrading there where problems and “bugs”.

i’m preparing my site to change a template for excellent newspaper theme but i want to use qoute post format on my own homepage in block (example in block 7, without featured image) but to see the special style of this qoute post format i must go into them. I want to see this special style on my homepage (not only in post) and no need to click and go into the post. so i need that ex. block 7 must display the_content (not the_excerpt) only for qoute post format. I need to use it as post format in block because i have a category qoutes on my site.
and also i’ll need to display the articles in this category quotes, for example, in Module 2 with the_content but not with excerpt, for only qoute post formats.
Qoute post format will be only in qoutes category and in this category will be only qoute post format.
I’m using a child theme.
