Hi,

In core the themes are similar but there are details in each theme that are specific only for one or the other. These details are what makes them different.

The design possibilities with the Newspaper theme are many, there are also many pre-made demos available for install
https://demo.tagdiv.com/select_demo/select_demo_newspaper
The tagDiv composer and multi-purpose plugin have a lot of options, many more are coming in future updates.

Thanks

You can import the demo with content and then make a copy of the homepage and then uninstall the demo. You can install it again afterwards without content.

Thanks.

Hello,

Each demo has it’s own custom css. There is no simple method for grabbing just parts of a demo without code modifications. You can grab the specific css and add it to your custom css box.

Here is an example:

https://pastebin.com/5pa9M1vw

You will have to change colors for the menu from the theme colors section and the line height from the fonts section

Thank you!

Hi,

The mobile heme plugin is optional, you can choose not to install. There seems to be a problem with the slider on your website, it is not functioning properly, and there are errors in the page
https://www.screencast.com/t/U8PP4UBgEL8O
The slider works fine on mobile as it can be seen in the live theme demo which uses theme version 8.7
https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/ios-slider/

So the issue could be caused by a plugin you have installed conflicting with the theme (since the menu and search functions are also not working on your website) or maybe code you entered in theme panel sections or theme files. Please check if that is the case and let us know. Deactivate all plugins except theme plugins, temporarily remove custom code and theme modifications.

Thanks

Hello,

If you encounter an error importing demos it could be the memory allocation. Please use this guide to increase the memory allocated to your WordPress and php. https://forum.tagdiv.com/system-status-parameters-guide/
If the error is still there, please check your file permissions and blocked files from your host or htaccess. Most of the times a file is being blocked by the security module as the demos need to be grabbed from our servers.

Thank you!

Thanks,

Hi,

Visual composer also has stretch row options, for full width layouts
https://www.screencast.com/t/8PsZUcOfjAA
It also has options to set a background color/image/video
https://www.screencast.com/t/1ikOSzh0
It has design options to achieve similar results like the demo you mention
https://www.screencast.com/t/xxNjUIJ6c
https://www.screencast.com/t/CBHYBWiRHVJ
So there should be no problem achieving full width results with Visual composer.

Thanks

I don’t think you can without importing the content. When you import without settings, you have to know which modules and blocks they used and the specific settings for those modules and blocks if it is for the custom homepage. The rest of the site will adapt to the demo settings.

Hello. I often like a particular element from one of newspapers demo – but not the entire look per se. Is there a way to get the look of specific element . In particular I am interested in the menu of the architecture demo ( https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper_architecture/) . I would love to use it for my site as its very clean and nice looking. How can this be achived ?

Hey, I want to split my sub-menu into two colums. How is this possible? Like here: https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/big-grid-1/

Features > Other blocks content > 12 big grids > Big grid 1 and so on

Thanks”

The black demo is designed specifically to be black in most part. Uninstalling a demo will remove all demo settings and imported data. Also you could customize the demo stylesheet and change the demo colors if you want, without uninstalling the demo

For example, I mean something like the ‘Digital art’ row, from this demo: https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper_art_creek/

if I change demo..will the website content also change like menu and stuff ?

Maybe that is happening because you are not using a header logo, I can’t say for sure. On our live demo it detects the header logo

Hello,

I have two questions.
I have the theme newspaper 8

1. How can I arrange the subcategories (in the main menu) as in the theme newsmag4? I need the order as in your demo theme https://demo.tagdiv.com/newsmag/ -> FASHION -> ALL CHICAGO SHOW COSMOPOLITAN … (below the articles and not to the left)

2. Is it possible to abbreviate the displayed ID names only in one block?
For example: https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/ -> DONT’T MISS All Style hunter Vogue Health & Fitness Travel
But I need: DONT’T MISS All Style Vogue Health & Fit Trip

Because all my 9 categories need to be visible (without the “More” dropdown button)

I hope I could describe my problems understandably 🙂

Glad to hear from you!

best regards
arti

We did not make any tests like that up to this moment, there could be online resources in the matter, you can check. Or consider using a different demo if you are worried this will affect SEO.

Hello,

You can inspect all of the blocks available in our theme here: https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/
Check under the ‘features’ menu item

Thank you!

Hello,

You are using the black version demo. Please change the demo and the post background will be white.

Thank you!

That is the WordPress toolbar, theme has no control over that. Each user can enable/disable that in the WordPress settings
https://www.screencast.com/t/J3dD5B3y4a

That author name and date may not come form the theme, it seems to appear outside the website container. The theme will display author name and date on modules, if enabled
https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/
If you could provide a link to your website we will take a look. Could be a plugin that causes the issue.

Hello,
Sorry but our theme does not have any options for page sharing. It does not control what the social networks grab from the page.
If i test our official demo like you mention I get this result: https://www.screencast.com/t/iFD8WAqAT
I;m not sure where the code you show in the screenshots is being grabbed from but the theme has no control over it. Please also test on a wp default theme.

Thanks.

Hello Catalin!

Same problem I see on demo site: https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper_crypto/td-post-ethereum-millionaires-attract-attention-from-regulators/amp/

In different browsers (for destops, OS Windows 10 – if it is important):

P.S. Guys who are watching this topic, this AMP page is also displayed as in my screenshot?

Thank you!
