Our only site with Newspaper template http://www.elocuent.com is suffering from this issue starting octobre. whenever we/or users try to share to Facebook (and some other mor obscure systems like Flipboard) we either get errors (from share buttons or apps) or only see the link published as text (no extre metadata such as image or text)

All other sites with other themes and same plugins in the same server are working properly (just made sure it was theme related)

We disabled all plugins an still same

Until early octobre everything was working well.

Whne triying the overall sharing debugger https://developers.facebook.com/tools/debug/sharing/ with same link, the FB system crashes (shows withe page result)

I deleted some social plugins because it were doing my site slow.

I decided to test the default bottoms, but I do not like the text in pc version: “Share on Facebook”, #Share on Twitter”.

I want to eliminate the text. I can not do that from translation in Theme Panel.

I am trying do that from Editor.

I’m almost finished setting up my first site with Newspaper and am impressed with how many optional settings there. That’s a great thing, although occasionally I’m not sure where to find the setting window for a small adjustment I need. I explore the CSS and add some custom CSS but would prefer to make the changes in the settings dashboard if possible. I have two questions;

1.) How/where can I adjust the size and location of the default ‘Share’ social media icons; Facebook, Twitter, Google+, Pinterest? Currently they always load on post ‘pages’ in a horizontal row above and below the text content. Can I reduce their size smaller and locate them, a) only after the text content, or, b.) in a block sidebar?

2.) I’ve built a couple Revolution sliders and have a question I don’t find answered on this forum or in Google search, or on the Revolution site. I’m not a paid owner so can’t post a Support ticket on their forum.
How do I set the first slide image as permanent background that is pre-loaded, displays at beginning and end of the slideshow?
I have the logo slide as first and last slide with loop at ‘0’ so it starts on the logo slide and ends on the logo slide. But none of the settings combinations stops the first slide from a delayed fade-in. before that the page background is visible in that stage area.

How can I edit the text on the share button for a mobile version? Instead of “Facebook” I want to change it to “share on Facebook”.

I have changed it for the desktop version, but when I open the site from my smart phone, the share button is empty. You can check what I am talking about HERE: Just open the link from your PC and then from your phone and you will see the difference.

A new model of pages was created recently, AMP and FBIA, removing most of the data of a page leaving it much simpler and lighter. This will work for posts of texts.

I’m using the AMP plugin from Automattic (https://wordpress.org/plugins/amp/) to create the pages AMP, along with the Glue plugin for Yoast SEO & AMP (https://wordpress.org/plugins/glue-for-yoast-seo-amp/), nd the plugin Facebook Instant Articles & AMP Google Pages by PageFrog (https://wordpress.org/plugins/pagefrog/) to customize and create posts in FBIA.

But none of these plugin carry the social buttons, and neither the embeds videos from Youtube.

Even though pages faster, causing the ranking of my website in Google search results, I believe that on the one hand you have a greatly increased traffic on pages AMPs, but visitors will not be able to share and disseminate the posts.

Another problem is with embed video from Youtube. The theme has how to create posts with videos on top (e.g. http://proddigital.com.br/play/esportes-fitness/q48/peso-ideal-qual-meu-peso-ideal/), but when accessing via AMP (ex.: http://proddigital.com.br/play/esportes-fitness/q48/peso-ideal-qual-meu-peso-ideal/amp/) appears only the highlighted image. This will cause that didn’t have a quick page logic, consequently more visits being that none of these visitors will be able to see the videos.

So I was wondering of you, there’s nothing to do on the subject to the possibility of social buttons being converted into AMP and FBIA? And also in the case of Youtube videos, I saw in the project amp (https://www.ampproject.org/pt_br/docs/guides/amp_replacements.html#include-a-video) that the version amp accept iframe (iframe-amp) which is the format used to call the Youtube video. But to work, you have to put a script on the page <head> amp.
I tried to put this script in the <head> in the subject, and he appears only on the original page, but not on the page.
Is there anything that can be done on the subject?

I only miss a little bit of inspiration to design my website 😉

But i want to ask something

As i start a topic in Facebook, you see all info that’s really not needed
I want just the text and not the breadcrumbs, date, name author, etc

eg

So you have the title of the post and the name of the website, that’s all ok

But not ok is: “Home Europe Anatolian Eagle 2016 EuropeAnatolian Eagle By Michael – 3rd July 2016 13 0 Share on Facebook Tweet on Twitter Again”

And then begins my article

So how can i remove all that rubbish???

Is it possible to add a share count at the top of the posts? Next to the share buttons.

Also, on the desktop version, it says SHARE next to the buttons but not on the mobile version. Most of our visitors are using mobiles so I’d like to do more to encourage them to share posts. Can we add SHARE to the mobile version? Or can we change the button text to Say SHARE ON FACEBOOK etc?

Any help would be great 🙂

Hello – I just noticed that when sharing a LIST on Facebook, the Facebook excerpt looks odd because it includes all the text at the top of the page like Category / Author / Share button text etc.

Is there a way to have Facebook pull the excerpt or even the first lines of text from the article?

when I share a blog post (please see http://www.ntr24.tv/2016/04/14/ecco-corrisannio-nove-societa-unite-per-far-crescere-movimento-e-territorio/) on Facebook, after the post image and title, an amount of additional text is also displayed (please see http://screencast.com/t/xC3GnknYb at the yellow parts in red rectangles). In the single Post page, how to show more sharing buttons apart from default Share on Facebook, Tweet on Twitter, Google Plus and Pinterest ? I didn’t find any option to add more sharing like Reddit, Stumbleupon etc.

Secondly, how to make button of same size like Facebook and Twitter, whereas the Google Plus and Pininterest are small buttons.

Finally in Post TinyMCE “Visual” Editor, I can see a sidebar text and line vertically occupying right place of Editor so the written area become small. How to remove that sidebar from Editor window?

On Facebook – upon sharing an post from the site, it shows the image and then it starts with the text by listing the categories – headline, by line, date, share on facebook twitter, and then the body.

Is there a way to remove the categories and the share on facebook twitter text.

If that image doesn’t work just visit http://www.servedaily.com and share a story and you can see the garbled categories, followed by other info, the facebook/twitter share and then the start of the body . .

When trying to share this page on Facebook, the text share this and the share count for each social network 2000010 shows up in the excerpt, right before the intro. Like this Share this2000010 (then comes my page/post excerpt). I have the same problem with all posts, how to fix it?

Hey all, just a quick question. I know NewsPaper and Newsmag themes already have the lightbox functionality for single image, so hopefully this shouldn’t be too tedious to do. I wanted for each Gallery inserted into the post that it would open in a lightbox like seen here: http://thecurvyfashionista.com/2015/12/new-years-eve-plus-size-dress/ and the image attachments would show like they do in the ligthbox of the post example linked. It uses the default WordPress gallery with some php and css tweaks.

I see on that site they use the image.php or the attachment.php file and some css to do this, my question is, in NewsPaper’s attachment.php what would I need to tweak to possibly get it to sit in a similar layout for the galleries? Or would I need to create a separate file that only targets when galleries are added to a post? Please advise.
