is there any setting I need to change? - topic

Hi,
I have bought this theme few days ago
and after I upload the theme, I also change my homepage path from http://www.guidepals.com/blog to http://www.guidepals.com. ,
Then I follow the official methods, copy index.php and .htaccess to my root file
(“blog” is my wordpress folder)
And change he code of newsmag from ” require( dirname( __FILE__ ) . ‘/wp-blog-header.php’ ); ” To “require( dirname( __FILE__ ) . ‘/blog/wp-blog-header.php’ );”

however, when I open http://www.guidepals.com , i can’t see anything even 404
and when I open http://www.guidepals.com/blog I can see 404 page with Newsmag theme..
but when I click any button of articles, i can’t see anything even 404 page again….
I don’t know if there’s anything I need to change for Newsmag’s path or any files?

Thank you but it’s not that.

Finally I removed the top menu. In “Custom css” I entered it for the shift:

.td-header-style-1 .td-a-rec-id-header{
top: 0;
}
#inner-wrap{
padding-top: 136px;
}
#outer-wrap {
max-width: 1170px;
margin: 0 auto;
}

It remains only to make clikable the background above outer-wrapper

Sorry for misunderstanding! Please try to remove padding bottom and add margin-bottom instead and see if works:

.td-header-menu-wrap{
margin-bottom: 136px;
}

Thank you for your help.

But I have to keep a space between the top menu and the header. That’s why I added a 136 px padding-bottom. What I want is making that space clickable like the left and right side.

Newbie question:
My logo is 1170 width but when uploaded is apparetnly shortened to 1074. Now it looks strange because the topmenu and menu are both 1170. What can I do to have the topmenu, the header (full width logo) and the menu the exact same width?

Hello. I have a problem.

I recently received an email from Google to activate Adsense: To activate your account, must create its first ad unit and place your ad code.

I created the first advertising object named ADS 1 and I put the code in Theme Panel – ADS – Header. Not seen. It is as if it were not present.

This is due to the fact that I have not yet approved the account, right?

Unfortunately theme doesn’t have an option to have different header on category page, you will need custom work for that. We would have gladly made it for you but we work very hard on the updates and features for all the users, sorry for this.

It is not an easy task to do that for each category and if you don’t have basic php/html/css experience I suggest that you hire a professional developer to make this custom modification for you.

After you install the Demo Data you can import 6 different styles (Stacks).

Simplest way is grab the cdn link from font awesome site and add to your header.php or footer.php file. I just did this for a test project.

If you are advanced you could also enqueue to load last in the speedbooster plugin.

Problems with Header Menu Items - topic

Hi,

I am having problems with Header Menu Items. I have updated my theme to the latest version of Newspaper and I am seeing that selectors (in Header Menu) are not really working fine.

When I use an icon, the selector goes to the right not staying below the menu item.

Also when I try to select an icon menu, there are two bars below the Menu Item (one in black and one in blue) when it is supposed just to have one (blue one).

I will show you exactly what happened:

I have checked your site and if you refer to the header ad, I didn’t find it on any views. Please make sure that you added the code properly in Ads > Header Ad.

Hey Guys,

I am using pagination for my posts , and using the default template loop-single.php

what I would like to achieve is to have a piece of code for header Ad ( <?php echo do_shortcode(‘[td_ad_box spot_id=”header”]’); ?> ) to only show on the first page above the featured image , and I don’t want it to show on the second and third pages (where the featured image doesn’t show) …

so basically I want to tie up the header Ad to show and hide with the featured image ..

Again , I am using the default post Template and happy to play with code if you provide me with guidance ..

Hey guys,

I recently installed Newspaper on my domain. Everything is great, thanks for this amazing theme, I got a lot of positive feedback!

This is a straight forward question with a probably complex answer I’m guessing. I am having issues with page load. According to Google pagespeed test, it’s my images. I also ran the YSlow add-on for Chrome and it said something about external Javascripts and stylesheets, no expiry for headers, and CSS in the body.

For the images, I tried optimizing as much much as I can. I tried EWWW, Smush.it, Imsanity, and Regenerate Thumbnails as recommended by you. Nothing seems to solve my images issue. I might be doing something wrong.

I went through a lot of the forum posts regarding this issue, but I can’t seem to solve mine. To be honest, I am not good with coding, as some posts mentioned code editing. I believe they were posts by Chris if I’m not mistaken.

Can you please have a look into this issue and advise me on what should be done? I wasn’t having this load issue with my previous theme.
